Greetings all,
I got hold of a working Kirby flyback tester model 98. The unit was made for tv repair guys about 1952. The little pamphlet that came with it says to connect the 2 leads to the plate caps of the horizontal output tube and high voltage rectifier. Seems like it should be able to be used on game monitors like the G07, K4616 and 20EZV. But where to clip onto?
It places the flyback across an oscillating tank circuit. If any shorted turns are detected, it absorbs power from the oscillator, causing the meter to drop into "BAD" region. Such a low voltage, no shocks to the operator. Any ideas?
Thanks
