Hey guys,

Couls someone please advise on how I can remove the black panel on the side of the flyback? I need to access the focus knob.

You'll need to provide more info than that...... most don't have a "panel" covering the focus knob.

What make/model monitor are you working on ?

It's a WG 25K7191.

No, it's not. That's a universal chassis that someone installed as a replacement for the 7191. There is a small hole in that black wall for you to stick a small flat head in (or your fingers) and adjust it.

Here's a pic...

Thank you very much modessitt :)

While on subject, I noticed there's a bit of a whinning sound coming from the monitor area. It's not very loud but it's present non the less. Any idea on what it could be?

Could be a cap, could be some stress from the B+ being a little high, could just be from the horizontal oscillator working to show the picture...

B+? Sorry I am not to familiar with the terms :(

I did notice if I adjust the contrast to a low setting it quiets down and if I increased it the sound gets a bit louder. Is it cause for concern or is it best to leave it alone?

If it's not bothering you when the door is on, then you could just wait until it dies someday to worry about it....

Doesnt bother me too much but I was told the monitor had a brand new chassis so I would assume if everything is indeed fresh, this shouldn't be happening. I'm handy with most repairs but Monitors are not my Forte'.
