fly back question

Hey all anyone know who or where this fly back came from and if that is a date code on that sticker? It came off of a K7000 25inch chassis

Yeah everyone here gave good advice. Some models of monitors flybacks are more susceptible to cracking which makes them arc and die also fry other shit. For some reason g07 flybacks like to explode so yeah always replace them and k7000's and sharp xm2001ns always get hairline cracks so usually you'll need to replace them. My rule of thumb is if the monitor is unknown I'm not going to power it on unless I've thoroughly looked over the flyback with a magnifying glass and flash light for any hairline cracks.

This looks like a standard no-name ebay flyback. You can tell it's not original because aftermarket doesn't have the top screw mount, they face forward instead. I've only seen the recessed pots in the really inexpensive ones. They're fine until they are not.

In my experience, most of the failed flybacks i've replaced have been these aftermarket ones for catastrophic failure.

Most of the originals that i've changed out have been for pot issues, like bad focus or flickering brightness.

it was working when removed but the screen was very very dark and still is but i think thats more of a tired tube than flyback or chassis
