Fluke 9010A Help. Need Binary Image of prom at U62

I'm trying to fix a Fluke 9010A with a suspected bad prom at U62.

It's a 82s123 compatible prom.

I'm running firmware version 3A if it makes any difference.

If anyone has a dump of this prom, or a web link
where I can find it, I would be much obliged.

Thanks,
Steph

I already told you on ttl that I'd read it for you and to contact me off list.

???

I'm not sure I follow..., you might be thinking of someone else.

I'm pretty sure you've never contacted me,
... and what's TTL ?

---

But it's OK, Porchy (aka Jon) got the file for me.

So I'm good.

Thanks all.

Someone posted to the ttl (techtoolslist) on friday asking the exact same question. I assumed (mistakenly is seems) that this was you. Anyways glad you got it sorted. Good luck fixing it.

How many other PROMs are there in the 9010A?
Most ZIP ROM archives only have the 6 ROMs. :(

As far I as know, there is only one prom at U62 (it's a 82s123 ).

I'm attaching the BIN file Porchy sent me.
(... it's in a ZIP file because the Forum does not allow to upload BIN files... )

Cheers,
Steph

It might have been from the guy I'm trying to help out...

He said he got the BIN file from a "friend on-line" ,
but when we tried to program a new prom with that file, it did not work.

So we weren't sure if the problem was with the BIN file itself,
or something else wrong with the 9010A.

So I figured I would ask KLOV to see if I could get another instance of the BIN file.

As it turns out, the file I got from Porchy, matched the file the other guy had,
so it's clear than the BIN file is Good , and that his problem is elsewhere.

So thanks to all who've help with this issue.

The prom file has now been corroborated by two separate sources,
so we know it must be good.

Cheers,
Steph

Did you program the new prom yourself? I'm curious why you didn't just compare the existing prom to the first bin file you received? Anyways, good luck with the debugging. If you need more help the TTL is a great resource.

The BIN file was "slightly" different from the original prom.

4 bytes (out of 32) were off by 1 bit.
(...this is usually typical of bit rot )

So we figured the original prom was "likely" bad and I programmed a new one
with the BIN file.

But the new prom did not solve the issue.

My client was really hoping the new prom would fix the problem,
and when it didn't , he was left to wonder if the problem was still with the prom
or something else.

I figured I would try to find another source for the BIN file to find out
where the problem was (...or wasn't ) .

By confirming that the BIN file is good, we now know that he has a good prom
(...which he did not have before) and he can now look for the problem elsewhere.

...don't you just love trouble-shooting.... ;-)
