Ouch.... that's a wallet hurting event :)

Glad I purchased mine from someone here on the forums when I did (which wasn't all that long ago).... I did NOT pay that kind of price.

I can't believe it went for that. Did the fact it was NOS actually allow it to sell for more. With test equipment like this, I wouldn't think that it would effect value, other than it should work w/o actual testing to verify that.

Wow....

Wow, but...

... when I think about how many nightly hours and countless weekends I've spent working on numerous Double Dragon PCBs down in my basement probing and testing endless amounts of 27512 Roms, cruddy 2015/18 rams, buffers and plexers and I/O chips and general circuitry until I found the issue 1,500 bucks don't sound that high to me in the end...LOL. For me it's more a matter of lacking the cash than shying the investment, even at substantially less cost than 1,500$ for a 6809 pod...

IIRC you bought it from me. I've sold three here on KLOV in the last year. If I get more I'd continue to sell them for around $600. They are not that rare IMO. This is a self fulfilling situation, the more people hype their perceived rarity the more the prices will rise. I thought the 6502 that sold on eBay 6-8 months ago was pretty silly when there were ones selling weeks earlier at half the price. eBay sucks as a price guide.
