Flipper "machine gunning" on Granny and the Gators

I have a granny and the gators and one of the flippers just started " machine gunning" when pressed. The other flipper works fine but this one once it is pressed just fires rapidly like a machine gun. Is this a coil issue or a driver board issue with the transistor for that flipper?

What is happening is that the High voltage section of the coil is firing and the low hold section of the coil isn't working. If you have an ohm meter check for continuity between the lugs on the coil.

Check the wires that go to the coil, its common that they break or pop off the coil. If the wires are OK, look to see that the wire on the coil itself isn't broken.

I had 1 super tiny wire on my Centaur flipper coil break which caused this problem. I soldered it back together and it worked. I ended up replacing the coil as the wire broke again.

Thanks for the info everyone. I managed to find the coil I need on ebay, an NOS coil for $11.50 shipped which was way cheaper than anywhere else I found it:)

Just wanted to give an update. Turns out it wasn't a broken wire on the coil but a bad diode on the coil which I replaced and now the flipper works fine and doesn't "machine gun".:)

Well maybe it wasn't the diode, was playing the game and the flipper started to " machine gun " again. Would it be the coil even though it was working for a bit before it started not working properly again or am I looking at something else. I did just recentley put new bridge rectifiers on the power board, could that cause a problem?
