Here is a link to what it is doing.

At 0.25, 0.35 and 1.24, it flickers, seems like it is pushing the screen up or down for a second, really annoying when you are trying to play. Any thoughts on this? Could it be a simple adjustment. Thanks for any replies!

Pretty strange... does it make a loud POP noise when it does it? It may be high voltage arcing from your flyback, or around the anode on the back of your tube. If you dont' hear any noise, it's probably something in the vertical section. Have you done a capkit recently on this monitor?

it could be his degauss wire is not hooked up or hooked up improperly and it is arching to the frame or something.

or it could be the game that is dropping a frame/glitching at random.

has your PCB had it's battery changed yet.

It's definitely not a battery issue. Does it always happen in the same places in the game or is completely random?

No popping sound, and cap kit has not been done, and noticed it happens at the same places in the game, during play, and also when game over, it flickers like this for each number that counts down before complete game over, which I did not mention before.
Am I looking at a bad game board?
Thanks alot for the replies :)

Does this happen whenever the screen gets bright?

It does seem like it occasionally happens with huge combos, that produce a very large amount of white light. particularly when the white light goes across the screen horizontally, but it ALWAYS happens before each battle, and at the end of the whole battle.

Here is a link of what it is doing during each countdown.

I remember someone else on this forum having the same problem with a MvsC, and it turned out there was something wrong with his h.hold or v.hold pots. You may want to make sure they are ok, or just try tweaking them. If they are on the remote board make sure the connection between the remote board and main board is still good.

on mvc when it counts down it does not flicker or flash. normally
all that changes are the numbers as it counts down. no flash or anything.

so i am leaning towards a board issue at this time.

can you plug a different game in and see if it still does it and put mvc in a different cab to see if the problem follows with mvc.

I will try this tonite. All I have is a spare pit fighter jamma, I need to check the connections, since the xmen vs. streetfighter, may be using something different.
Will repost after testing. Thanks again everyone!

that was me :D it was blooming from v hold being out of adjustment, it would happen on more than just MvC (but that one was most prominent),

I have not gotten to test with another board yet regarding the video issue, but will update this when I do.
On a side note, this machine had no sound after transport. After pushing in the jamma connection on both sides (it was not loose at all). All of a sudden sound. After two hours a few days ago, of removing the speaker and connections etc. Doh! These things are sensitive.

I still have not tested out the board, but I did want to comment, that this is xmen vs. streetfighter and had seen a working one during the countdown screen, and it does flash for every number. If that makes a difference.

Update: Plugged in another game board, and no flickering, picture looked fine. I am unable to test the x vs. street board in another monitor, since i do not have another working monitor chassis.
Would it be safe to say this is an issue with the game board? Before I go buy another one.
Thanks!

can you plug it into another jamma game??
it won't matter what cab as long as it is jamma.

Well, I do have another working chassis, but I would not define it as working. on this other chassis, I cannot get the image centered. Now that I mention that, it should not matter, when what I am looking for is just the flickering.

Anything to save some money. I will try this and post results. Thanks again!
