Yesterday I went to a big flea market and as I was scoping the scene out, I came upon a guy selling all kinds of console stuff. He had complete systems both old and new and tons and tons of games. I managed to snap up 5 NES games: Mega Man 2, P.O.W., Rad Racer, R.C. Pro-Am and The Goonies 2. He had oodles of others but these 5 will keep me entertained for a while until I complete them. :)

Did you get it for a good price?

I go to the flea market every other week looking for old console stuff. Just last week I bought an Atari with 40 carts and 2 Atari console cases. Maybe 8 controllers and more.

Finding an NES isnt tough, but finding good games or a top loader is tuff at the Flea Market.

A good NES game can keep you hooked for days trying to complete it. Mega Man 2 is the best in the series in my opinion. P.O.W. is much harder than the arcade version, but has some cool stuff added in like the diver bosses.

15 bucks for all 5. There were plenty more that I could've came home with, but these 5 are the ones that caught my eye first. I've never played The Goonies 2 so that should be interesting. R.C. Pro-Am has always been one of my favorite NES games. I've played Mega Man games before, but it's been so long since I last played one. P.O.W. will always have a special place in my heart. Many years ago at a party, I played this game with a friend of mine and we had people sitting around watching us. It took us a while, but it was the first game I ever completed... thanks to him. A few yrs later, that friend passed away. I will always have that memory of him.

Nice.

Btw.. Megaman (the series) are awesome. I played them all & beat them as a teen. They are very hard and trying to figure out how to beat the Boss's makes the game super fun.

At some bar, a flea-marketeer is bragging that he fleeced a sucker.

Its not really my thing, but my buddy has been doing this for years. He mostly buys stuff and resells on ebay. He bought a boxed NES with all the manuals and 10 games for $15. Since boxes and manuals are apparently everything to the console crowd, it sold for $150. He has done this over and over. Some bullshit cartridge sold for over $100 alone. He got it in a box of dozens of shrink wrapped games that he paid 20 bucks for. It was all from Kaybee toys, a chain that went under.

If there is no box and you pay more than $1 for a common cartridge at a flea market or yardsale, there is about a 95% chance you've been hosed. I'm not even into it and have all the games you mentioned, so you're solidly in that 95%.

Sorry, I'm not trying to be mean, but you need to haggle. ;)

Hey, $3 a piece isn't bad at all! I have been trying to get an NES and games for myself here at the local flea markets, but prices are always too high. I have scored a number of Atari 2600 games, though.

Yeah, I'd say that's not bad for games you're going to keep. People here generally want too much and you'd usually pay at least that on ebay buying individually.

$3 each is cool. I pay that at flea markets myself and I own a game store. Sometimes I get a $50 game for $1 though :)

$3 is great for a game you're going to play an enjoy. Megaman 2 is worth at least 10 in a normal retail situation so $3 at a flea market is great.

$15 isn't bad - you can find some great NES deals on ebay if you have the time to surf through everything. C-list and garage sales are good sometimes as well. Some games I just wanted to play so bad I bought them at game stores - paid a little more for them but I had the game that day.

I'm currently at like 125 games or so, have a couple complete systems and bunch of loose ones. It's a come and go hobby for me - if i see them somewhere for the right price I'll pick them up. I obtained all of the mega man games for around $40 after I was done - I got a real good deal locally for 5 and 6.

Get yourself a copy of Double Dragon II.

The Double Dragon series is also one of my favorites. I'm trying to find LLWCS. I will spend weeks upon weeks playing this. . my fav. NES game, eva! :004_ssmile:

We have a weekly outdoor Flea Market by me and I am always surprised to see so much NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, PS1,PS2,PS3, Xbox and Xbox 360 games. I have bought quite a bit of older Ninty games. They are cheap too! I love Flea Markets!

There are many games that sell for good money, you just have to know which ones they are.
I've been buying and selling older console games for years from flea markets, garage sales, craigslist, video stores, etc and probably make between $1000 - 1500 profit each year doing so.
Things seem to be dying off a little bit lately but you can still find some valuable games out there for next to nothing.

I have 2 NES systems (1 main and 1 backup) and roughly 140 of my favorite games. I used to try and collect them all and got up to about 400+ but I never played most of them so I cut it down.

I have a nice 80's set up with all my 80's systems hooked up to a 20" console tv from 1982 to keep the experience authentic to how it was was I was a kid.
(Except the TV I have now is color. We had B/W TV until 1985!)

Next thing you need to do is go for some Twin Galaxies NES records. I had the Kid Niki record for a little while until someone crushed it. But I have been working to reclaim my title while working on some other games. (Yes I am aware that Kid Niki is a stupid game!)

I'd like to get a record on a prime title such as a mario game , contra, etc but some people have almost achieved the impossible already and betting them is unlikely. It's still fun to try and go for the records though.

OMG you too!! My parents saw the "projection tv warning" that came in the box, and immediately I was relegated to a 10" black and white tv I had in my bedroom. Used that FOREVER until my neighbor upgraded his 19" color tv. Dear lord do you have any idea how awesome color was!!

Anyhow I do the same thing as far as the consoles, and at this point I'm really wanting to just get the space back. I went way overboard buying up stuff.

That said - sooner or later if the temp ever falls under 6000 degrees maybe I'll get some more out. I sold a couple Atari's to Riptor over the weekend and I know the next 2 boxes have Sega Saturn stuff. I also have 2 boxed Texas Instruments TI/99s and one boxed Atari 400 (and at least another 2 400s minus boxes).

I like the flea market sellers that don't try to value games off the internet prices. Just a flat rate for all of them, that, of course, isn't too high.

Seems around here, most people want $5+ for anything.

Our pawn shop has fair prices, but the selection doesen't rotate enough for me, and I know a guy who's good friends with some of the workers, so he gets first picks.

I would gladly pay $3 per game. When I can (rarely) find them at Goodwill locally, I generally only pay $1 per, though. Sometimes the price person thinks they are gold though.

I played my Atari the entire time up until I got a nintendo on a 13" b/w tv. I even played nintendo for at least a year on that thing. Then I got a 19" color tv for Christmas and it opened up a whole new world of color! Every game seemed brand new to me all over again!

What's funny is dealers with their iphones looking for the highest buy it now price on ebay and that's what they value them at.. but they have no prices on them.

I once tried to explain to a guy that it does not show a value of the game, you have to look at completed auctions and only the ones that really sold.. but he wasn't very happy at that idea.
