I was looking at attempting a bizarre tube swap that's never been tried before, and concluded it can't be done (incompatible necks :( ), but I'm curious now.

On a flat-tube chassis, what is different on it, versus a convex tube chassis? Is the flyback done differently? Changes in circuitry?

I don't know if anything is different really. The differences (if any) are probably in the yoke for deflection purposes. WG doesn't list different schematics on their support site for convex vs flat tubes - and they sold both over time.

I've ordered a D9500 on a convex tube, then later ordered another on a flat-tube (when convex was no longer an option). The chassis' themselves looked identical, although I admit I didn't go over them on a part-by-part basis...
