Flash Gordon Playfield

If someone from here wins this and is able to scan it I would like to have a crack at vectoring the artwork on one of these tables.

I always thought it had a cool theme and colour scheme and had a pretty high production run.

I live near the guy who does direct ink playfields and the ones i held in my hand looked really nice and I bet some peeps might wanna take advantage of something like that.

pm me if you wanna take me up on my offer

PM sent.:D:D:D:cool:

I might bid if it's cheap enough. I could definitely use one.

FWIW: I wouldn't waste my time vectorizing it. CPR is already working on it IIRC so it would be many many hours wasted.

good call I just checked and one guy has it as an active project. I do feel like "having a go" at this type of project though. Seems like it could be fun. I am better on a computer then i am fixing electronics typically

I guess no point in sending me anything Dokert.

That same guy at CPR has been working on it for over 2 years now. There is a licensing issue with Illinois Pinball. Things will move a lot faster after the go completely Bankrupt which is in the works now.

Well if it has been two years and no results I would like to try it on myself as a project. But if it is done and just waiting for rights then it is kinda pointless unless no end of that tunnel is in sight.

CPR has a good relationship with IPB. I don't see any reason why they couldn't produce the playfields unless another copyright holder were involved, like whoever produced the movie. I could be wrong but they've produced several bally playfields of similar vintage.

Who knows if the art has even been completed. Flash Gordon isn't exactly a trivial playfield to reproduce.

I think the bigger problem is that there is a long line of playfields to be produced before that one so we won't see it any time soon regardless.

Time will tell.

So ya 300 for one with wear on the top playfield. If we had the art file we could get them shipped off and re-inked for 300 and it would look as close to the original as you can get plus it will be clear coated.

I know ink is not the same as screened but it would look pretty nice and you could get it done when you want and not have to wait for ebay to offer something better.
