I've noticed when all other FG pins on the internet start they boot up with a "dee-doo dee-doo" sound and then some misc laser sounds. When mine boots it says "Flash" and then some different misc laser sounds. Where there different software versions for this game??

They all had speech, but there is a dipswitch setting to remove it. When I got my Flash Gordon, it had some sound issues and did not play the correct ones at the correct times.

For example, it would play different speech when the ball hit the plunger lane.

I would recommend downloading pinmame and visual pinball and see if the other sounds match up to yours. If they all do, maybe you do have some weird sound rom version.

I also did play it on Pinmame and sure enough it played the Dee-Doo at the begining so I'm stumped.

Do you have an EPROM programmer? If so you could try burning a new sound ROM. I would keep the old one or back it up. Could be a weird software version. Could be a corrupted ROM. Could be a bunch of things.

Yeah I have a burner but don't have it working yet (Cheap Willem). I was kinda thinking the same thing.

It's worth a try. Having known good code running is never a bad thing when you're troubleshooting anyway.

I have heard of people having problems with the Willem and 2532/2732. You might want to ask in the arcade repair forum if you're having that problem.
