Just got my email requesting payment for my Flash Gordon playfield. CPR says they are headed off for clearcoat and will be shipping starting March 26th.

The Wife looked at me and said, "Suck it up Buttercup and get busy."

Looks like I will be spending most of my year working on pins. Xenon, Flash Gordon, Pinbot, Mata Hari. Now if I can only add a few more hours to each day, it should work out just fine.

Congrats. I couldn't justify that expense so I had the overlay made....turned out spiffy.

Yeah, saw that....too bad I will now have to pass on Pinbot playfield because I bought Stargate, lol. Can't really say I'm going to cry too much over it.

I got that email too :)

I've been leaning way towards not doing those kind of projects any more but this one is going to be hard to turn down.

EDIT:
You know the projects I mean... the ones where you spend twice what you could ever get back ;)

Totally agree, but this is another keeper for the wife and I. Nothing like playing a game that looks and feels like it is brand new like it was BITD.

I would think Flash Gordon would enter the Fathom class of pricing after all of these parts come out....

Thoughts?

A game is only worth what a buyer is willing to pay for it, and since I have no plans of ever selling it I would have to say no.

I preordered this in May 2010! I'm having one sent to HSA for clearcoating, so the wait continues . . .

This was my first pin - bought it cheap for the dorm room - good times, but the playfield had *extensive* paint loss. Now I'll finally be able to play with a smooth surface!

Hopefully there'll be time to do a proper restoration over the summer, and maybe a switch to LEDs, too. Anyone have any tips/suggestions for the work?

Pic of FG area help !

I have a Flash Gordon and can't wait to get it up and running. I have one area that is down to the wood and I know I cannot paint this area up. I have done some touchup work on my Gott DD using a cool method. I use Avery Clear decal sheets. I print the are on it. It protects the area well also ! The problem I have is that I need a good hi res shot of one area. If someone has a newer playfield and can got a hi res shot for me, I will be forever in your debt and hope I can return a favor one day. See attached area needed. At least as hi res as your camera can go would be great ! PM me and I will give you my email addy to send the pic to.

TIA

Jim

PS, this pic is not of my machine, I wish !! lol. Just the area needed.
