Tekbilt models 30820 and 30920.

Problem:

Both the models 30820 (12 amp) and the 30920 (15 amp) have a couple of resistors that go bad causing intermittent operation.

Cure:

Check/replace resistors R4 and R8. They are both 270k @ 1/2 watt in value. If one is found bad, replace them both anyway.

Of course many of the Tekbilt power supplies are approaching 20 years old so it would also be a good idea to recap them too.

Tekbilt power supplies are actually made by Mean Well (www.meanwell.com) and they match closely to Mean Well models MWP-602 and MWP-606. Only difference is case color. Tekbilt has a chrome case while the Mean Well supplies are painted gray or flat black.

You keep posting these and you're going to make me run to storage tomorrow to get those PS's so I can see if they match any of these fixes...

I have now written a Word document on repairing the Tekbilt power supplies. I wanted to post it here, but the forum software says it is too big to post here though.

You could try zipping it. Or install Cutepdf. Then you will have a "printer" so that when you print the document it turns it into a pdf.

Or perhaps we can set something up for you to post all your good stuff to. Maybe talk to Saint at BYOAC so that you have your own Wiki section. "Ken's Den" Then you can post stuff at anytime.
