Hi everyone,

First post on this forum, just to let everyone know that on BYOAC plans are unfolding to make a clone of the Fix it Felix Jr game. Go here to find out more.

The game will be built by the same person who did a Pac Man Battle Royale replica (cabinet and game).

Great Project! A few have already replicated the cab and artwork..just need the game. I'd been interested in contributing.

•Vertical or horizontal?
•Low resolution for crt screens
•High resolution with some hlsl shaders (scanlines, glow, etc) for lcd screens
•Kill screen
•Same functionality as the flash game (the one on facebook, not the one on the disney site).

I like the idea of the project, but I'm definitely looking for a version which approximates the version Disney placed in its Fix It Felix Jr. cabinets (which is the game shown in the film) and not the Facebook game, iPad game, or Disney Flash website game. This would allow for people to build proper Fix It Felix Jr. cabinets of their own.

I love the idea. If I get an empty crap Nintendo cabinet I will donate.

Why not make a .exe in vertical format so that you may run it in a cabinet with a PC. Then you would just have to add the .exe to the startup folder.

+1 if it's not the version that Disney did on their PC/Arcade hardware then it's really not worth doing.

Well, that is what i'm going for. I've seen some video's of the 'real' game on youtube and using those as a guideline I can come pretty close to the original. Just take a look at the Pac Man Battle Royale game I did and try to spot the difference with the original...

Did you or someone else build the pac man battle royal game? Your first post you make it sound like someone else did it but in your second post you state you did it. Not trying to start anything but just a little wierd when you read it.

I am with everyone else if this is just baised on the flash games then it would not be a big deal.

I programmed the pac man game, but the idea for making a fix it felix came from someone else on byoac. But i would also be programming the game...

ArcadeSD.....

.....this would be really sweet if you could figure out a way to work with Clay Cowgill and get the game on the ArcadeSD. In case you haven't read about it already here is a link:

Then it could be easily added to existing machines! :)

I've no doubt that you're great at writing a clone game, but did you know that there are also different versions of the "real" game? (In other words, there are at least two different versions of what came inside those Disney cabinets, from what I've seen from videos. Different Felix character models, different intros with and without thought bubbles, etc.)

Just a suggestion: shelve the project until Wreck-It Ralph comes out on DVD. That'll allow you to freeze frame and get a better look at the 8-bit style gameplay. Maybe they'll even include the game as an extra.

I'm interested in this as well. Have a cabinet and artwork ready, just need the software.

Maybe Disney chopped off his

....

I think this project is very interesting. I would actually think Disney might want to contribute if this was done correctly. I have 5 games in my basement and my kids now have learned through me and the movie about games / arcades.

The thing that bothers me about Disney is the accuracy of the game compared to the movie. I'm sure the game was being created at the same time so they probably had to guess on a few incomplete areas of the movie.

I think now that they are updating the iPhone version, it must mean someone is interested.
I think a good version of sugar rush even on a console would be great.

Even the latest version in Downtown Disney isn't accurate to the movie!
Oh and how about the bonus level with the Qbert characters....

There is Sugar Rush for iOS, but IIRC it's called Wreck-It-Ralph Storybook Deluxe. It has a minibook but it also has a very close port of Sugar Rush from the movie. Vanellope is a playable character and does glitch.
