went and saw a fishtales today, unshopped,in fact there was wax all over the playfield that was never wiped off they thought you put it on and leave it kinda like a surf board, kept coming up with ball missing, fish insert wear but rest of playfield looked like it would clean up nice, belt on reel broke(which explains pinball missing error, left side cab faded, and as we are standing there discussing how much money?i notice the dmd is turning garbled, maybe a bad ribbon cable?i thought 800.00 was a good fair offer, she didnt take it,am i out of touch or was this a fair offer?also these are the things i noticed in the 1/2 hr i was there,i figure there has to be a few other small issues?oh and it needs to be removed from a basement.

Before I read what you offered, based on the issues you described, I was thinking $900- so I don't think $800 was an unreasonable offer.

I dont think that was a bad offer at all....

800 for a pin you will have to slap 5+ hours worth of work into.....

makes sense

whAT I think is they got a bunch of email responses, and now they see they have gold there is a possibility they will get 900 for the game, but i took into consideration the things iam seeing outright,in my mind i know theres more that awaits to be fixed.

Thats a funny response,my wife said the same exact thing.

Well they obviously don't know enough about pinball to take care of one properly...and I think prices in that situation should be based on what you MAY have to do to it. Time = money as well. People think their games are worth the "BUY IT NOW" prices they see on Ebay...but I always remind them - "Is anyone actually BUYING it at that price?" When someone wants more for a game than it's worth (or I want to pay), I just say "Look - if you can get more for it, cool....this is what I'll pay, cash is ready to go, and I'll get it out of here without a hassle." I'm not gonna put someone in a situation where they could have made more money and regret selling it to me, but usually they realize everyone else that comes by is going to see the same issues, offer less...and they might call ya back once they realize you weren't bullshitting them.

ive already recieved an email that its mine for 850.00,but now ive had time to think about it an feel that 800 was more than fair and iam just going to pass on the deal,i would just rather find a working and shopped example for 1200 or 1300,it is a player cond machine when all is said and done and after xmas i bet i will be able to get one in that condition shopped for around 1100 bucks

Fish tales is a great game IMO, and quite the looker too. And it's pretty challenging especially with the original lightning flippers. I'd love to have one :) The game kicks my ass pretty hard over and over, that's how it should be haha

Fish tales is a great game

i agree. my buddy has one that we've been slowly restoring. its great. love the music too.
i think he overpaid with all the problems it had. 1400.00
so far ive been seeing them on ebay and wherever and usually they've been going for 2200 - 2850

in broken condition as you've described i think the 600 dollar figure sounds about right but then again you are in NY so you have to figure east coast would be a little higher.

i would definately get one if i had the chance. so i think you should go for it.

iam going for it ,the deal is done i just have to pick it up,will post pics when its home.800.00 was the final #.i think 800 is fair and reasonable, prob could have played hard ball, but the deal is done and i feel good about it.
