Fishtales static...

strange. I just pulled the connectors at the board, stripped the wires and re 'sat' them in their molex. The static seems to be gone but there is sound only coming from the one larger speaker (on the left). The sub and the small right speaker arent doing anything. I dont think they were before either.

Why would only one of the speakers be working?

This is weird. I just hooked up another speaker and it works...the small speaker must be blown...weird, something must have blown the sub too....

***Very important--Check the speakers for resistance, they should have 4 Ohms (I think). If they have shorted open, unhook the speakers from the sound board or you will blow the amplifier. I had a friend try to play a game with 1 working speaker and the sound board failed within 1 week. The sound board needs 3 speakers, each with the proper resistance. Kind of like how a shorted coil will take out a transistor.

Good feedback (no pun intended) looks like I need two speakers...I wonder what shorted/blew them????

Any ideas? My fishtales has some static when playing. It sounds like a bad volume pot would sound on one of my old williams machines...Thanks!

You may have a bad eprom with a glitched checksum. This can happen when there is bad data on the rom... other sounds will sound fine since they are in other address regions on the eprom. Get them checked out... can't hurt ya..

I am having the same issue on my LOTR too. Not horrible, but just sounds a little staticky.

Chris

Check your software revision on LOTR. The earlier versions had issues with sound volume and mixing levels.
