Fisher Price: My first restoration: Mortal Kombat 2!!!!

Got a Mortal Kombat conversion, was MK one inside a Data East cabinet. Then picked up a golden tee that was painted black, had an mk2 door tag. Hoped for the best :)

I have since done both sides 100%. they came out amazing for my standards, could use a little more work but I am more than happy.

New control panel overlay and plexiglass in the mail, Hope to have a marquee and mk2 board, very shortly.

As of know the 25" monitor needs a capkit and the game plays MK1. I switched everything from the conversion cabinet. New joysticks/t molding and buttons are in the mail as well.

Hopefully everything is done by the end of this week.

Looks real good, congrats and looks like you had an easier time of it than my project!!

came off amazing, as you can see on the pics of the left side, theres some crap on his arm and under his waist in the white. Idk what the hell is with the lighter colors but the paint stuck to that like glue.

Looks great! I love seeing all these MK, MK2, and other "new classics" being uncovered! I've never been that lucky with Citristrip, but I've only used it on a few cabinets. When I tried it on my Simpsons it destroyed the art, but someone had sanded the art for some reason so I think that played a big part in letting the Citristrip get under the vinyl.

I have the original panel not the original plexi though. No biggie for me I'll get it

It should't be hard, I cut my replacement for my Capcom Vs SNK without using a router, just holesaw and exacto saw. I used the router on the Marvel Vs Capcom because it was a wood panel, vs the metal dynamo that the Capcom vs SNK is in.

my plexi was cut to the size of the cp, I just gotta drill the holes, I have done this before. I bought 2 new hole saws, 1+1/4 and 1+1/8. I just gotta cut the plexi not the cp wood.

UPDATE: Got t molding, joysticks, buttons, and ordered marquee. :)

Plexi is drilled. cp overlay should be here tomorrow. Then control panel will be done. T molding is on. Game is coming along

OK so which joysticks did you get? If you put in supers I will smack you. :D

Also which buttons? I have competition buttons in my MVC and CVS, but when I did the MK1 over I used standard HAPPs. I think it would be weird on MK. Maybe it is just me. :)

I guess we have to wait to see it done? No in progress spreads?
