A friend of mine is working on his Fish Tales and cannot seem to make the reel stop in the right place. I know this isn't a lot of info to go on, but has anyone else with a FT seen this issue before and can maybe offer some suggestions I could send him?

If he gets this fixed, he's going to sell it to me so I can get my first pin! Says he's replaced every board in that paticular circuit.

I'll forward any and all suggestions anyone may have.

Start by cleaning the optos that are in the reel. Use a qtip and some isopropyl. Also check that it has the proper belt installed and not a playfield rubber. They are fairly easy to get at.

Sometimes this little pulley wears out on the reel as well, the middle hole should be D shaped.

Here's a link to a new belt if needed

My advice is buy the machine from him in non-working condition at the cheapest price you can get, then fix it yourself. It's likely a minor issue with dirty optos.
