I have a credit dot now on fish tales for switch 36. Switch 36 is the catapult which casts the balls from the reel for multiball. The catapult works in the test mode and in multiball. The only thing I have noticed is that it releases the balls for multiball more slowly now. In the past, the first ball hit the left flipper with lots of spin followed pretty quickly by the other two balls. Now, the first ball has little to no spin and there is a delay before the other two balls are launched.

Anyone ever have this happen?

I think you have this a little messed up.

Switch 36 comes up in error. You need to address that. Not the solenoid.

Go into switch edge test and push the switch - does it work ? if so try with a ball, may just need adjusting.

If it doesn't work in switch edge test, then go through the normal steps. Is the switch working ? If so then check for broken wires at the switch, or other switches using the same color wires and through connectors back to the cpu.

You manual has a switch matrix, find switch #36 there and you can see the row and column and what color wires you are looking at.

LTG :)

Thanks

You are right it was switch rather than catapult. The diode on the switch was disconnected. Now, it is connected and I no longer have a credit dot, but the ball launch is still slow. Going to try a new solenoid and see if that helps.

most likely the solenoid is just fine

change the coil sleeve
it's probably dirty along with all the pivot points, etc. related to the catapult

while i was in there, i'd change ALL the coil sleeves
rebuild the flippers, clean the this and the that, on and on
