Just did my first tube swap. An old Zenith tube I got from my in laws for free with readings that matched up perfectly with a 4600. Decided to swap the yokes with it because the 4600 has the yoke wires into a 6 pin connector and the Zenith had a 4 pin connector and didn't want to mess with splicing anything. It took a little work to get the purity and convergence down but now I have a burn free tube in my Defender. It looks amazing! I will definitely be doing this again.

For reference the tube is a Zenith A48ACB02X out of a Zenith SJ5935Y 19"

Direct drop in for K4600.

Thats awesome it worked for you! I have been collecting some old TV's for free off CL lately. I haven't taken them apart yet to see whats inside, but hoping i may find a tube or some sockets so i can make some adapters.

Thanks man. Yeah I saved the neckboard to make an adapter sometime in the future. That will be another thing to learn in this hobby which kicks ass when you figure something else new out.

I did a 4600 tube swap by soldering on the old yoke wires, worked very well. Whatever is done to a 4600 requires more work.
