All went well. Just like you guys said, kept the rings with the tube and the yoke with the chassis.

I wasn't really planning on doing the swap but, the TV just showed up in the back of my car. I pulled off the back cover and it was the right pinout. How could I not try it?

So the next step is to put a burnt tube back in the TV before you donate it to the Goodwill right?

Funny.

And should be in the monitor section.

But glad it works. Be funny to see what the Goodwill guys say about it...

Think so? I thought about it for a sec, and figured that there was no real tech info, it was general. The point of the post was mostly just to put up that picture.

Mods, please move if ya'll want to.

True, but I figured since you confirmed an easy way to do a tube swap, it would be helpful in the monitor section for people to know that.

Still - a simple post about "What will Goodwill think about this?" and then post a pic of the TV with an explanation of how it got that way wouldn't have needed to be in the monitor section at all...

Do you have a thread of the actual tube swap? I would be interested in seeing it. I have several G07's that would be really nice to swap out if it is somewhat easy.

Well, shoot, I did not really take pics along the way. I felt like tube swaps had been covered quite a bit in the past here on KLOV. I would not have known how to do it if they hadnt been. My monitor was inf act a G07, you just need to find a 19" TV tube with a 9 pin yoke and the same circumference, so your G07 yoke will fit.

this thread is where I got all my info

Well, I guess this is a monitor tech tread now :)
