Pulled the glass out of the pin to do some work on it and it exploded in my hands minutes ago. Fortunately it was a piece I was planning on replacing. Like others have said, it is a strange feeling holding something solid one second and nothing the next.

And dang does that glass keep popping and breaking for a good while.

Pin was in the house, I've been in the house so my hands aren't cold, but the pin had been on for most of the day, it didn't feel warm but it must of been...I guess it was time for it to go.

Fortunately it was a pretty easy clean up and no sharp shards to get cut with :)

Yes. Quite freaky. The ongoing crackle reminded me of Rice Krispies. :)

Think I have broken one pinball glass and one or two monitor glasses.

I also had an accident with tempered glass on a Blackout:)

I did not see the coin door being in the way:) BAM the thing explodes in my hands. I
only got very few very small cuts even though I was holding the glass like you would hold
a table or a door you were moving

There were diamonds EVERYWHERE!! LOL

I think I might be a little more willing to try plate glass now...

Don't be silly.. The whole point of it exploding was safety. You hit a corner wrong or something to make it pop. Imagine that instead of exploding it cracked into 3 or more sharp pieces along the length of the glass. Now, you're holding 2 large pieces in your right and left hands.. where's that 3rd triangular shaped piece headed? Gonna slide down your arm? your stomach? maybe tilt as it slides off the game and hit you in the face? Perhaps impale a foot? You should be HAPPY tempered glass did what it should do and just break out the vacuum.

The whole glass debate is stupid IMHO. If you have half a brain, use tempered like all of the manufacturers use. Why argue with that? (That's a rhetorical question BTW) Obviously they had a reason to go tempered in the first place. Trust me if plate was the way to go Stern would have converted a long time ago :) :)

If this was in a carpeted room, you'll never be able to walk barefoot in there again. All those little pieces get into the carpet. You'll be finding glass pieces for YEARS to come.

Dyson vacs are hugely over-rated. Check out Consumer Reports... the first Dyson appears around 18th place out of the top 20...

I would assume the price has a lot to do with that. Most likely not the best value for your money. I have one and it's definitely the best vacuum I've had but I'm a cheap bastard and had $100 vacuums before that. I got it as a gift and I can't say I would have bought one for myself.

In any case I'm confident it would be suitable to clean broken glass from a carpet. Unless you've got wall to wall shag carpeting like Ken's pimp pad. In that case you'd better just keep your purple gator skin loafers all up on yo feets.
