First technical issue with my first pin (1976 gottlieb)

I got a 1976 gottleib sure shot about a month ago and have discovered an issue. When the top five lanes are hit the pop bumpers all light up giving you 1000 points for each hit. When all lanes are hit on my machine and the 1000 bumpers are hit there is a hum coming from the assembly inside the cabinet that emits bell tones housing three coils. At this time the game no longer keeps score unless the ball hits any of the rubbers. Of the three coils in the bell assembly the two on the right stay raised and the far left does not rise at all. When I push down on the two right coils I feel them resisting as if they are attempting to push themselves farther up but I think they are stuck. When the pop bumpers are lit they are supposed to emit a ring when they are hit, they are not. The hum goes away when all balls are lost/gameover. I feel like I am not explaining it well enough so I have posted videos of exactly what it is doing.

Whats humming is a chime unit not a xylophone. There are 3 chimes. Tens Hundreds & Thousands. Your Hundreds & Thousands are sticking, that`s why you can still score 10 points on the playfield but not 100`s or 1000`s. I`d start by cleaning all the switches on the score reels. I noticed on your video that multiple reels are scoring\spinning at the same time(they should`nt). I`d disconnect the chimes until you figure it out becase if you let those chime coils hum for a long time they will get hot as hell & possibly fry.

thanks for the correction lol. Xylophone was the only name I could think of to call the thing. Where are these score reel switches located and what is the tool used to do so? I need to order a pinball repair tool set . I have'nt done so because I had no problems before this. Would the instruction manual show where the switches are? Thats another thing I need to order.

Read, learn, go forth & repair. Don't mess around with the innards until you read this.

DASVIS is correct telling you to read up on ems before trying repairs. If you take the backdoor off of the head you`ll see white plastic holders that hold the score reels in place.
Lightly push the holder to the left & you can pull out each score reel assembly. Since you`ve never done this before I`d turn the machine off first. You`ll see the stacked switches.
One of the switches only make contact when the reel gets to 9 which causes the higher reel to activate. 1 or more of these switches need to be aligned correctly.
