First shots of Tron pIn:

Looking at it some more - some vast differences -

Double inlane on right

Pops seem to be lower right

Mode hole (cool)

Center shot

Third flipper

So is different - thats good. Does seem like Funhouse.

Wow !! no neon tubes, no glo-balls what a BIG disappointment.

Perhaps on the LE version?

Maybe the center disc is illumated?

Also didnt see the repro Tron machine over the mode hole - that was mentioned somewere, and really excited me cuz i am restoring a Tron right now - would look good next to it.

Other than that - Software will ROCK, layout looks really good. Honestly, it does look like lots of fun shots -

Center holes / third flipper two shots / left and right ramps / left and right orbits / mode hole.

This could be an awesome game... the sounds and sound track alone are awesome... I'm not sure how it will end up... but it has enormous potential to be exciting.

I do see a tron upright arcade game on the playfield, which is kind of a cool playfield toy.

I would probably like this (if I could afford it) ... I'm not too picky... new pins are really cool to me as I'm still a amateur pin player.

Even if they don't trick it out with a bunch of el wire that is something that could be done as an add on for sure...

Wish the pinball 2000 concept wasn't dead. This feels like a game that could really take advantage of it.

Biiiiiig disappointment to me.

I don't feel bad knowing I can't afford a NIB one now.

They could have made this machine so cool, but instead it is nothing but a bunch of screenshots from the movie plastered on the game. It should have had a complete red/black theme, and switched in between red/blue lights. It has way too much color in it for a proper tron pin.

I'll look for one in the arcade when it comes out, but I'll probably never want to own one.

Looks good but wheres the damn NEON! It should be dark with bright lights.....

Agreed on the no neon or el wire. Also agreed on screenies all over the playfield.

I do think it has potential though. I would have to play one of course. :) I am glad they did it. I just hope it's fun to play.

I have enough to go on now to make my prediction: It will be GREAT.

The playfield is set up for fun (funhouse style - great layout). The shots are varied, and look fast and exciting.

The artwork is good.

Software will make or break the game. Provided they dont go the cartoony route like they did with Batman, and provided Disney enforces use of their samples, that will round out a great complete package. Sterns greatest strength has always been software - so its safe to say tt will work.

The only major disappointment is the lack of toys - not much there. Maybe the LE version will have it. But trust me, toys dont make a great pin.

My thoughts are that the EL wire would probably drive up production costs a good amount because it would probably be pretty expensive to pay for the extra labor and to source that somewhat uncommon part. Would probably require some extra fabrication outside of their normal computer/electrical systems.

I agree though, would have been really cool. I'm sure if the LE version doesn't have it some collector will show us how it's done right.

I hope they make this one work and include the cool stuff they hinted that they would. If this is just another game made with the same old stuff I think people are going to be really disappointed. Even with a cool layout and rules.

This is the PRO version gents. No need to get your panties in a wad about the lack of EL wire and glowing goodness.
Wait for the LE pics to show up and then judge it.

This layout very closely resembles Funhouse....... hmmmmmm.

So do people REALLY pay .75 to 2 bucks these days to play ONE GAME of pinball??!!! I must be older than I thought I was.
