I'm attempting to clean and install replacement parts in my first pin. It's a lot more complicated than i thought.

Right now im trying to install new flippers. Not a rebuild or new assembly or anything, just the actual flipper with the rod attached. I unscrewed the metal thing under the playfield holding the old flipper eod and got the flipper out, but now i cant get the new flipper to fit in at all, making me think im doing it wrong. For some reason i havent been able to find any documentation about this specifically online. Any tips? Im trying to take apart as few stuff as possible

I just had a similar problem on a DE Royal Rumble. Flippers were trashed. Loosened the bolt with an allen wrench and removed flipper. Tried to install new flipper bat and it was not having it, even with a little "persuasion" from what ever was laying nearby and heavy. Had to file part of the end down to get it to go through. I have had more than a few times when new parts need to be made smaller to get them to fit. It didn't take long and make sure to rotate the metal post when filing to avoid a flat spot. Just take a little off then try it and repeat until you can get it in. Good Luck.

It does seem the new flipper bats from places like pinball life do have slightly larger shafts than the old ones. My only solution has been to pry open the pawl just enough to get it in there. Not easy but it works and i feel its less likely to cause problems such as lubricating it. Ddnt have the problem doing full rebuild kit though. Not saying you should just noting differences between OEM and repro parts.
