First Purchase of 2010!!!

I picked up a FF last night as well :). Unfortunatley mine has been converted and painted so it will take months, hundreds of dollars, and some luck to look as half as good as yours.

Congrats on the killer pick-up!

even free is too much for a painted black FF. If you can get the black off the side art. then maybe.. Then it would only be about $500 to save it...

I think the stick would be the worst part, for sure. Saving the art will be tough, too. Goodluck bro! Great game!

I've got the board for it already and even though it was converted the cp wasn't hacked and has the correct joystick (needs a new cpo of course). If I botch the paint removal I'll figure things out from there but in the meantime cross your fingers for me ;).

@Jow -- Did you know about FF before you got involved with the hobby? I never saw it in any arcades locally but it was my favorite game on the 7800 so I'm thrilled to have one now.

Nope. It was way before my time. I don't feel worthy enough to own it if we are being honest. It's amazing.

Speaking of, are there any good FF players around that would be able to drop some hints about the game?

- Is it better to run right for the cone and get it for the most points on each screen? Are you better off using the food on the screen as much as you can to hit the chefs for the bonus points, but a lower cone point total? Will the cone actually melt to nothing and you die?

Any help would be great :)

Mark Alpiger showed me a bunch of stuff on FF last year. His approach was to go directly for the cone only picking up food if it was "on the way" he also would manuver in such a way that the guys would kill each other by accidentally hitting each other with food. I watched him rack up over 1,000,000 in no time. That's how I play it now and it works great. I just don't have a FF to practice on. When are you gonna throw a Northen/Central Cali KLOV arcade party Jow? :D

Yeah right! He can't even bribe people to drive all the way out there. :)

Ha, well I figured it was a better location than mine. I live even further out in BFE than he does. He's pretty much centrally located between the central valley and Nor Cal. It was worth a try. :D

I'd have a party, but people may get really bored with the small lineup really fast :D. Thanks for the gameplay tips, guys. My cab is setup on TG tourney settings so there are no bonuses. Its tough!

Yeah.. I passed on one though for $800 and I believe it is Todd who won't ever let me leave it down! :p

Was that one in good shape? These are all over the place price wise. Cabinet condition is big considering there is no art (yet) that has been rero'd.

Run for the cone. Just wait and see what happens when you get better, the food is a waste of time. BTW, someone asked what the pricetag was at CAX, IIRC it was $600.

Oh and sweet pickup! I've been offered (well) more than I paid for my FF cocktail and I just can't sell it.

Whats your HS, Sav?

The pricetag at CAX was $650. How much did I pay? I dont recall... :D

Sav - I would sell your cocktail if you could get an UR. The artwork makes this game, although I know you have space limitations.
