hi pinball folks, i have come to the dark side of the forum, i have been warned. i just got my very first pin. a stern meteor in very nice condition. i got the bug really bad with this one game. i just put a deposit on my second pin, a tron le that was for sale here and will be picking it up next saturday. i played the game and really liked it and also enjoy the fact that it will look nice next to my tron and dot games. i am new to pinball scene. pretty much have 50 arcade games, growing up i never went to the pin section in the arcade. i feel i might have missed out on alot of fun. the pins are awesome i really have the pin bug now! really looking forward to learning about the pins and visiting this side of the forum!
thanks everyone!

Pinball machines are like Pringles once you pop you can't stop! At least for my wife and I. We are up to 13 pins now. And no end in site,

i was told this would be the case. when i was i kid i rarely played the pins cause i was horrible at them and could not make my 5 bucks last me all day on the pins. i could spend hours on arcade games with a quarter. looking at the following already t2, flinstones, ac/dc, wiz of oz, iron man, indiana jones, starwars de, tspp, south park. (sorry dont know most of the abbreviations as of yet)
what i like and seen so far is that you can buy a nice pin and use it for a year or two and trade it or sell it and get alot of your money back-this is not about money to me, but it is nice.

Yes pins do seem to hold their value. A little better then arcade, that is just what I have noticed since I have been collecting games. I started with arcads, then found the pinball's. It's not about the money for us either, but it's nice to know that you can trade up or down and there is still money in them.

I love pinball :)

You will be looking for # 4, 5, and 6 soon! LOL

Enjoy! Was this the Meteor that Malice95 had? That was a VERY nice machine!

Chris

Pins are a madness! The down side to collecting pinball is moving them around. Every time I get the urge to move a couple out I think next time I'll collect shot glasses, beer cans, bumper stickers or something small and light.

yes chris, that meteor. malice95 would not budge on the price, i normally dont nickle and dime if a machine is in nice condition. very happy with it! worth every penny to me. it turns out that machine will cost me dearly though! its addictive as crack, but does not cause health issues..(at least i hope not)

i learned alot from the first pin. i respect those in this hobby, its alot more work moving a pin and breaking down/setting up then an arcade upright. putting the comet together and setting up and leveling it to me was tiring.
i was getting nowhere with the game, the ball was coming straight down too fast. the pitch was over 7 degrees. i read online that a pitch should be 6.2 and i figured out an easy way was to get an i phone leveling app. now i got 454,000 but that the best so far, cheers!

I own one and its very fun, gets lots of play I rolled it over once and got1,240,400, but I stay mostly in the 500-600k range, you will continue to love it, never gets old...

lol.......everytime i go to get a pinball machine i call my older neighbor to see if he wants to ride along for the ride and get out of the house and he says to me "dave why dont u collect something thats easier to move around.....like stamps.....or baseball cards"

Congrats!

I currently own a T2 and I recently traded my TSPP for a Williams Indy. All solid state pins seem to hold their values, and they do not sit around long if the price is right (its never taken me more than 24 hours to sell a pin).

TSPP is a great game with colorful art that appeals to everyone regardless of skill level. IJ seems to have the same universal appeal with great art, classic theme, cool toys and deep rules.

T2 has an all-around great theme for me - I was 16 when T2 came out and the effects were cutting edge at the time. If you get a T2 I highly recommend doing a full restore. I restored my machine and its wicked fast and really challenging to play. Also, in terms of cost a nice T2 gives you a lot of value for the $ compared to some of the high dollar A-list games.

t2

big fan of the t2 movie, like the pin alot. i have never played tspp, but seen it on you tube and i am also a simpsons fan. thanks the t2 looks like a cool machine to own!
