I drove a hour and a half to bring home a craigs list find, Satans Hollow. Upon loading, I notice that the bottom will need to be replaced, looks to be swelled and rotted. CPU looks to be off of another game, so will need to find one of those to replace, as also the marquee. I have not seen any pictures with this on it.
The seller stated that the "game worked when stored a year ago" and I was not able to fire it up before i left as he was not home, and that was fine with me, I just left my money and ran, as I was so happy to get this game.
After I got home, unloaded it , took pictures, snooped in back, I plugged it in and got the screen as seen in one of the pictures. Its in my cold garage and i picked it up out for the outside storage of the seller, so not sure if its cold , or I may just need to reseat some of the plugs.
Any ideas on where to start?

Or any parts that I may be looking for hit me up ??

I saw that and would have gone the 2 1/2 hours each way to get it had it been a mini. I always liked that game, and even though MCRII system with it's issues I would like to find a smaller one eventually.

Everything looked original other than the marquee (one of those "New game" marquees where they spray painted with a stencil the game name then sealed with white paint) and the what appears to be a Willis Dig-Dug repro overlay slapped on it. (Strange mix for sure!) Edit: Realized it isn't a DigDug repro, but something 2nd tier, and the panel is not an original panel as the start buttons are vertical when on the original the are horizontal.

A bit confused by what you meant a CPU from another game in it Or did you mean CPO as I mentioned above?

It's an MCR/II system similar to Tron, Kickman, Tapper. It is quite problematic. The first point of failure is the ribbon cables between the boardsets. Second seeps to be the audio board and then video boards themselves. Sometimes the capacitors on the CPU board after the power connector short and fry (+12V line for audio). Also, the linear power converter board may be bad, along with the special return feedback large black sealed transformer on the power suitcase in the base. (If either of the last two things are bad, it's easier / cheaper to put in a switcher power supply and a $50 power adaptor board from ArcadeShop .. I did that for a friend's Tron).

As far as parts, I have a control panel with pretty decent (though far from perfect) overlay if you're interested, plus I have one of those curved pieces that go behind the control panel covering the blacklight with the pattern on it (in case your's is broken).

Also found out that the serial number is a 572 and musta been a shakys pizza and there is a tag on that back. Also the counter had ov 40,000 plays on it ....

Satans Hollow

Check the power supply. Chances are the battery is still on there and leaky. Get an MCR rebuild kit from bob roberts.

Nice find & good luck with it!

oh wow,i need to get me a sherlock holmes magnifying glass, them pics are sure small?
:)

yeah, whats up with that, I never had a proble like that before with other pictures i posted, Is there a way that i can make them larger..?

I can't quite tell from the photo--are you just getting a plain white screen with nothing on it? If so, make sure the monitor is plugged into the middle board of the three-board stack. Everything else plugs into the SSIO board on the inside, and it looks like the monitor should plug in there too, but it does not.

Nice score.. I love my satans hollow.. I have a extra Control Panel, overlay, board set, and red sticks.. If your interested send me a pm... Might even have a marquee??

do you have a better pic of the control panel? that overlay is interesting, and it would be kinda neat if someone at the time made an aftermarket satan's hollow cpo.
