Minnesota and Omaha Storage Containers Raid!!! w/Pics

So I'm very new to the hobby, and I'm really enjoying the search. In fact, to date all I have is a 60 in 1 in a Nintendo Cab. I have a handful of pins as I came from that side of the hobby before I got the 60 in 1.

This weekend I made two Trips with my buddy Steve. We checked out 4/5 storage units. He landed a TANK cocktail, Boot Hill and a Circus. There was some really neat stuff but things were a little out of my price range.

There is something exciting about walking up to a row of semi trailers.

Yesterday we went through probably 24 buildings and semi trailers on one property. They were stacked with games, redemption , jukeboxes, pinballs, vending you name it. It was there. There is something amazing when you open a semi door and have to climb on top the first few games just to see if you can even take a look. I didn't take nearly enough pictures. The first half I forgot and by the second half my battery was dying (used as a flashlight) and I was mostly trying to use my camera to peek around and above units to see what the heck there was!

At the second place we found a coin door for the TANK but that's about it. Things were rough or so packed in you'd need an army to get them out lol.

All in all I'm just having a lot of fun and can't wait to take my first game home!

Here are the pictures I do have!

enjoyed the pics......especially pic 7/8 damn you pole position ;)

The funny thing is I want a PP. I probably saw 6 or seven of them in various states. The better shape they were in the more man hours it would have taken to pull out lol!

If he doesn't want that Boot Hill, there is a guy in MN that is looking for one...

Matt,

That was a lot of fun. I havent yet counted all the mosquito bites but I did end up finding a total of 5 wood ticks. At least we didn't get stung

A lot of people know about Garys and a lot of been there over the years. There is roughly 25 semi trailers full of games, 2 small buildings, 1 large pole barn, and of course carny rides everywhere. There is actually an episode of Gary and his brother on American Pickers when they go to Iowa and Minnesota. I think it is great for the hobby if we let people know about this place. No reason for all of those games to sit there any longer and get destroyed by the elements. Yes a lot of the gems have been pulled out of here over the years but there are still a lot of diamonds in the rough. I wish we had to more guys with us to help un load some of the games. Its pretty tough one the game you want is in the back of the semi trailer or it is piled 3 high!

Lets start a list of all the games we can remember seeing out there and if they looked complete or not:

6 - Pole Positions - 4 Compete
4 - converted pole positions (cant remember what they were converted to)
4 - Gunfights - 3 complete
4 - Sea Wolf II - 3 complete (1 is a cabinet wiring and a monitor, no pcb's)
2 - Atari Basketballs
1 - Datsun 280 ZZZap (Phetishboy made famous game)
1 - Donkey Kong Junior
1 - Battlezone Open Face
4 - Sprint II's (1 was just a cab)
1 - Rampage
1 - Atari Stunt Cycle
1 - Gorf Cabaret
3 - Gorf stand ups (1 was missing stuff)
1 - cocktail Gunfight
1 - Artic Gun
2 - cowboy EM gun games
1 - EM gun game (red white and blue with a monster on buildings)
1 - stunt Pilot
1 - Tank II stand Up
1 - Baseball EM Game (Green, same pcb's as space invaders and boot hill)
1 - Jungle Hunt
1 - Taito Space Invaders (cabinet only)
1 - Ivan Stewarts Super Off Road 3 player
2 to 4 - Outruns
1 - hang On
1 - Super Hang On
1 - enclosed Glass Bull dozer game
1 - enclosed glass satellite or space shuttle game
1 - Hypersports (conversion Williams moon patrol cab)
1 - Star Trek (missing something?)
10-20 - Jamma conversion cabs
1 - Asteroids Deluxe
4 to 6 cocktails (2 taito projects)
2 - Defender EM Gun Games
1 - Out runners
2 - fishermans bait
1 - Operation wolf
2 to 4 - super off roads
Super Monoco GP
Moto Frenzy ( or something like that)

Old 60's coke machine
Pepsi or RC Cooler
4 to 6 dart boards
40 juke boxes for parts (cant remember how many were complete)
8-12 redemption games (didn't pay attention)
Rock N Bowl
Lots of slot machines

I have to stop and think about this for awhile. There were so many more games but I cant remember all of the names of the EM's, jammas, and the odd ball games.

The coolest part is black and whites, EM's and projects are $100. Most color games are $150, some get up to $300.

The first time you go out there by yourself it is freaky! Your are out in the woods, you lose cell phone service, you see the run down buildings with broken windows, trailers parked randomly throughout, and old carnival rides with a giant KISS ride (from the Midway) looking at you through the trees. He opens 1 of the first trailers, and he tells you to climb inside, that was terrifying by myself. I thought to myself; I am going to climb in here, go to the back of the trailer looking at games, and hear the door close behind me into compete darkness.

I wish I had more pics...scanning through:

Area 51
Silent Scope 2
Drumescape Sign (at least)
Black Knight Pin
Knight Driver
Captain America
280 ZZZAP
Road Riot 4WD
Out Runners
Hang On
Prof Pac Man
Operation Wolf
Moto Raceway

There were a bunch of pins and games in the newer buildings. A lot of cool stuff if your looking for a wall hanger.

Keep in mind that everything on the list plus more is still there. We are not interested in taking anything else. I already got from there:

Track & Field Cocktail
Atari Sprint II
Atari Stunt Cycle
Atari Basketball
Midway Sea Wolf
Lots of parts that I needed

If some one wants the contact info of the seller please send me a PM and I will pass the contact info along.
