Video of the test game on location at Gameworks in Shaumburg, IL

First impressions:

-LOVE the magnets...looks like there will be constant magnet madness on this game, which keeps things random and fun. Having a magnet in front of Iron Monger will prevent STDM drains while keeping you on your toes as well.

-HATE the "defibrillator" sound FX from the stand-up targets. Throw that into the "Most Annoying Sound FX" thread! I hope they replace that before the final release.

-Interesting that Iron Monger blocks 2 (maybe 3 shots) ...left ramp, middle shot, and possibly War Machine kickback...not sure if this is bad, but just something I noticed...I think Dr. Evil only blocked the middle shot.

-Only one DMD clip in this video, but it looks really nice....not sure if Stern is using a different footage processing technique, or the fact that it came from a nighttime scene makes the character look super crisp and clear.

Can't wait to see how the rules shape up!

The minimal artwork (that looks like it was copy & pasted from a movie studio EPK) still gives the table that Zizzle look, but the gameplay sure looks fun.

Without being a multi-millionaire, I couldn't see spending the MSRP on this, but I'd definitely like to play it.

Seeing the game play defintiely makes the machine look more interesting then the original photos did!

I'm thinking that it looks pretty good, especially given the 0.5 software version running it. The artwork is pretty bright, so I imagine that this is going to be one of those machines that looks much better in the dark than in a well lighted area. I much prefer most of Stern's game in a dark room as I feel that the playfields are pretty bright already.

If the game were $3k I would be buying one.

I love the cabinet and backglass. The playfield art is very generic; no mode based inserts from what I can tell.

I like the sound the standup targets make.

I'm annoyed that they didn't find a way to use the stock art in a more creative way - inserts in the glowing chest pieces or on Ironman's hands or eyes.

My qualms are mainly with the playfield art and not so much the ramps being at the top of the game.

that looks pretty slick. Talk about being tempted to spend some money.

ohmai me as well lol, thinking about becoming an op and getting one and putting it somewhere random i can go play anytime, but still hopefully help pay for it lol!

LOOKS really cool.i also like the magnet field. i would have to play before i paid.i wanted a bigbuck hunter till i got to play it looks are only half the fun!

lol I still havent had a chance to play the Big Buck Hunter and its sitting 20 feet next to me. Everytime I go to the showroom I end up playing ToM.

Would I play this - sure I would.

Will these machines fare well in the field - absolutely because of the theme

Would I buy it - not at that price I wouldn't. However I do have to say the DMD looks sweet and the magnets kick ass - love that feature

Minute mark 2:36 - 2:37 on the video looks like he's humping the shit out of the ball lol

Honestly the game play looks mediocre at best - and for $5k+ it's a fail for me. But Stern isn;t aiming their products at guys like me so it doesn;t matter.

Dont worry Alky, your not missing anything by not playing BBH.

Wow Ill tell you one thing about big buck hunter. Fuck the track in the middle of the playfield with the deer. I lost several balls as their path was re-routed in between my flippers after it hit that grove.

I see what you're saying. Yes I like pinball lol. What I mean is that I'm not an Ironman fan and I rarely like a pin based on a movie theme anyway. (Spiderman is pretty sweet though I have to admit that)

I'd take something "silly themed" like a Whitewater or Funhouse (like I just bought) over this game anyday. again I say - it doesn;t matter what I personally think - movie themed pins show success and is what Stern will continue to focus on. The days of actually being able to create a pin theme out of nothing are long gone - and I mourn.
