First Haul Success - Scramble

Good job...it only took you 60 posts to get it going! Now, multiply that by 19 more games and you will have another 15K posts and 19 working machines.:D:D:D

Frizz, I am down to my 2 last projects, Defender and Robo mini and i'm in no hurry on those so if you ever want me to drop by and help you work on some of that stuff let me know. Have you sold anything yet ?

As I'd imagine you'll learn at some point, a KLOVer from out of town is coming over TODAY to pick up Ms. Pac, DK, and Galaga.

I have/will have Asteroids, Centipede, Baby Pac w/48-in-1, Pac Plus, Dragon Breed (Joust Cab), Dynamite Duke (Defender Cab) and possibly Scramble up for sale in the weeks to come...

Now, there is other opportunity here. That Joust cab is solid. I actually prefer the Joust cab over the Stargate cab I used for my Williams Multigame. An option would be to put a coat of paint on the Joust, get some new side art, throw my guts from the Stargate cab in to the Joust and be happy... OR I could make a 2nd Williams Multigame... get another JROK board, drop a new monitor in to it (I already have one), a new set of art work and then sell it. The trouble is, frankly, I don't think I'll make much more profit selling a nicely made Joust than I would selling the cab as-is as a project...

I dunno... ya know what happens when you have TOO many options?

I'm there. I just want to take each cab one by one... clean them up... get them working... and get them in the hands of arcade enthusiasts.

EDIT: Oh, and Dave... I am still in the "sorting" process for the most part. That Scramble was pretty much a no-brainer as far as diagnosis. I am hoping the rest are the same. Trust me... I'll be calling you I am sure. As a matter of fact, I'm going to call you in a couple minutes.

The marquee blows florescent bulbs in about .5 seconds...I learned this by going through not one but two bulbs (damnit). I think i am going to get a replacement fixture from Walmart/Home Depot and drop it in... evidently, I am guessing, the transformer is bad on the one that is in there.

You just need to buy a new ballast. They're only a few bucks and you can get one at Home Depot. It will be identical in appearance to the one that's in there now (well, perhaps the color may be different... the last one I bought from HD was white, but the shape/size and mounting holes have remained the same for decades). You'll have the new one swapped in a matter of minutes, and it'll remain original. I hate seeing hacked-in cheapo fixtures when the proper fix is easier and even less expensive....

Thanks for the tip...I'll go that route.

Very nice looking Scramble. I really like that game. I had one for a while, but I sold it a long time ago. I had a Super Cobra PCB that I would swap out in there. Both games are really fun. I made a modified control panel for it and I used to play my other V-Konami games in it like Time Pilot, Super Basketball and a bunch of others.
