Well I was able to grab a Pacman c/t for a great price this weekend from a member here and it ended up being even better than I was expecting. The only downside is that I bought this as a gift for a friend so I will only have it for a month or so.

Game Plan:

- Rebuild the G07 (caps, hot, fly, width, etc.)
- Recap the game board
- New edge connector and pins
- New fuse holders
- Build a new base (including new leg levelers)
- New T-Molding
- Deep clean

I think after doing all of that this thing will be a solid game for years to come, and hopefully fix the hum issue. Anything else I should think about doing before wrapping it up for delivery? I don't want it to look extremely perfect as that won't match the decor of my friend's house, plus I think a 30 year old game should have some patina.

I started the new base yesterday just have to get it painted and then attach it and get my new legs levelers. I built it out of Hickory because I had some laying around the shop and I think that will be stronger than the original ply.

Here is a picture after unloading it this morning...

Well two months later I think the game is just about ready to deliver. The surprise is set for this Thursday night to deliver the game.

I had been trying to get the wave fixed in the G07 but I just didn't have the time to dedicate to getting it fixed right so I swapped the G07 for a K7XXX this morning. Looks very good though it does need the horizontal width adjusted slightly, I don't have a plastic tool so I will adjust it once the tool arrives.

What I did:

-Brand new base built out of Hickory, with new leg levelers.
-Ended up getting a different board as the old one developed an issue and the sound never worked right.
-Added Barry's multi kit.
-New fuse holders, and power cord.
-New T-Molding.
-New edge connector.
-Built a little credit switch that uses the coin reject button.

All in all I think it turned out pretty good and I am happy with it, hopefully it is appreciated. I have never given a gift like this before but I must say it feels pretty good to surprise someone with something like this.

Here are some pictures from today, I let it sit on for an hour and cycled through the different games making sure it popped back to the menu and didn't have any issues.

And here are a couple of my little credit switch I made...

When I originally made it I was using a different coin mech, this new one didn't line up as well. But it still works great and the coin reject still functions should you get a jam.

Nice pickup Paul.
What was the price on it? I had been looking for one for some time.

I think I paid $225, I bought it from member "bigdadnsir" in Turlock. Actually thinking back maybe I paid $325, I don't really remember.

ummm, my birthday is next month, and you are invited. :)

Seriously, that is a serious gift! Very nice. I think I have all of the parts to restore my pac cocktail now, but it keeps getting bumped down on the list. Now I need to rebuild another G07 for it since I have stolen the one out of this game for another...again. :)

That was a lot of work to do to give away. Hopefully good arcade karma will come back your way!
