Just picked up an Elevator Action that is in pretty good shape, with the exception of the broken monitor.

I started tearing the thing apart but then realized I should take a pic.

Seems like this is probably a Jungle Hunt that's been converted into a Elevator Action. I think I am going to restore it back to a Jungle Hunt/King. The sides look great but the previous owners drilled some extra holes for a COAT HANGER and a DRINK HOLDER. I guess I'll just patch it up and get a TAITO stencil and pretty it up again.

Anyone looking for an Elevator Action marquee and bezel in very good condition?

This is my first time this deep in one of these Taito cabs (even though my MAME cab is based off one). I didn't see any lights for the bottom of the marquee. I reckon I'll have to figure out how that thing works..

Congrats on the score. I feel it necessary to advise you against fully repainting a cab with only minor issues. EA is a fun one.

+1... It's a lot better looking than most classic taito cabs. I'd leave it w/ some of the blemishes and focus on getting the JH/JK parts to de-convert it.

Congrats on the score.

Swapped out all of the lamps with LEDs tonight. It looks soooo much better imo. The nice white light really lends itself to the marquee and instruction card colors. the light spreads a little more evenly than the incandescent bulbs so im not getting as much of the seeing-the-individual-bulbs look. Didnt have to hack anything up and cram a florescent bulb in there to get a better effect.

wow looking good. was ea just a rom swap on the existing boardset?

I got a whole new board. If it's just a rom-swap im going to kick myself. (in all my studying I never came across anything that explained that's all thats needed)

One thing I've done here is keep the EA control panel and just applied a Jungle Hunt overlay. There are 2 extra buttons that aren't in use (the 2 inner white buttons). Maybe one day I'll end up slapping a multi-taito board in there and ill be ready to rock.

Don't kick yourself, but Elevator Action to Jungle King/Hunt is just a ROM swap.

You can't go from JK to EA though without either adding the MCU board or using a bootleg ROM set.

You can swap several of the games like this, but not all of them.
