Hi, just completed my first flyback and cap kit replacement. It was nice to see it fire up after I hooked everything back up. My flyback had toasted itself in my 2 on 2 Open Ice Challenge with a WG K7000 monitor so I bought a kit from Bob Roberts and went to town. I have one question for you guys with more experience than me. I can't seem to get the monitor to focus properly. It is blurry after turning the focus on the flyback all the way up. Colors are nice after adjusting them, but the focus issue is killing me. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Make sure that the wire from the flyback to the neckboard socket is in properly, and make sure that the pin on the neck that goes into the triangular part of the socket isn't bent.

Also, make sure your tube and bezel is clean.

And sometimes what looks like a focus issue is actually a problem with the colors or brightness/comtrast being turned up too high making the edges fuzz out a bit from bleeding...

Thanks for the quick reply modessitt. I will check everything mentioned. Can you answer a newb. question for me? What is involved in cleaning the tube and bezel? Thanks

Windex and paper towels. Better to do it while it's shut off, as sometimes you can get a little shock from the static build-up (although it won't hurt - much).

If you don't know how to remove the bezel (glass or plastic in front of the tube), it depends on your cabinet, but usually the control panel needs to be removed first....

Oh...I understand. I thought you were talking about the tube on the neck of the monitor that I had to take off and clean. Thanks again.
