Hey guys,
Posting this from a restaurant and hoping I can get a response before I head back home. Did my first cap kit today to try to fix a wave in my Nanao 20" (Sega Turbo). When I hooked it back up...no go. No neck glow, no smoke, no nothing. No spark while discharging. After removing it, I noted that my 125V 800mAmp fuse was blown/broken. I don't know if it happened while I discharged it before the cap kit or while I was soldering or what. What I wanted to know before I head home is do you think I'd be safe trying a 250V 750mAmp fuse? That's all they have at Radio Shack and wouldn't be able to even find a 125V 800mAmp until monday and I wanted to do some troubleshooting. I would think that nothing higher than 125V would be running anyway (because that's what's coming out of the wall) and if something higher than 750mAmp tries to go through, it'll just blow it early? So the only risk I would have is the fuse blowing early? Thanks!
Derek
BTW-I triple checked all of the polarities of my caps before powering up. Had a little bit of a tough time on a few soldering points, but everything was good and solid before powering up.
