Well, today I picked up the Bud Tapper that I posted about last week. I paid $200 and spent an hour or so cleaning it - it's in fantastic shape. The power cord looks original and doesn't even have the ground pin cut off! The side art looks great, although there's a big gouge on the left side, and it's starting to bubble and peel in the top corner by the marquee. The wiring is unhacked, I can't believe how clean this cab is... It was sitting in a shed for who knows how long, it was dirty as hell, but no rodents living inside, just a few spiders. ;) After I cleaned it I could see that the monitor is burn-free, and it could use a new cpo. Plugged it in and was surprized that the marquee light worked, as well as the coin door lights - but there's a problem with the board. It just showes garbage on the screen, and won't coin up. I'm going to pull the board and re-seat all the chips, check voltages, all the basic stuff. This is by far the cleanest cab I've ever bought, I'm stoked...

Ha ha, nice. I don't ever recall seeing one of those around this area when I was a kid.
I guess there was one out there. Congrats, it's pretty clean.

Nice score! has not seen too much sunlight(Not faded)...

Before you start messing with the pcb and possibly cause you more grief, test the liner power supply. Its a good bet thats your problem. Now how you want to fix that problem is up to you (rebuild or replace with arcadeshop).

$200? You ripped that poor guy off, he must not have known what he had! You are morally wrong, where are your ethics?

:D /sarcasm/ I am one of the people who would have got it right away, maybe even offered a little less.:)

Damn sweet score. Wish I could find one this cheap but chances are I'll have to stick to XBOX or MAME. Get it working yet?

Not yet, I haven't had much time to work on it, but I think it's the power supply - just need to rebuild it or decide if I want to "upgrade" with the arcade shop replacement.

Gotta love Tapper! That's a very fun game. I played it in MAME earlier today but its not the same. I would love to have one. Timber is great too.
