After searching for any arcade in the area, I finally found a repair shop that worked on arcades. With the help of Google translate I left a note that I was interested in purchasing a few games. They e-mailed and we met up today. As you can see in the pick, I grabbed a Blast City. No game included, but really nice picture when I got my own board in there. It smells of the typical tobacco and will need a thorough bath with the help of Magic Erasers. Still, I finally got one to replace the Blast I sold earlier this year in preparation for my move from California to Okinawa. I sold my last Blast without a PCB for $1200 and I think I overpaid him for this one. I offered 50,000 Yen ($450) and he didn't even hesitate. He is getting me a NEO 29 next week for the same price.

Well...sell existing games for a good price in the States and buy cheap in Japan. For the price I got on my first Blast, I am getting another Blast and a Neo 29...with $300 left over.

those candy cabs are sure popular and spreading around the world. i ship cap kits for them all over the world. at those prices that explains why they are imported into the usa so much.

OP should buy up more candy cabs and sell/ship them to us...

If you bring one back on your DITY move for me I'll pay you cash on top of it.

I just started my 3-year tour so it will be a little while before I head back stateside.

I was actually getting worried I wouldn't find any cabinets since I have yet to find any arcades since being back. I sold my Blast and NEO 25 because I thought I would easily find more while here. It looks like the arcades have dried up. There are amusement centers, but all they have now are redemption, rhythm and battle card games. There must some games out in the wild because the guy I bought from still fixes them. But I really think his days are numbered. That's the reason why I am getting mine now instead of at the tail end of my tour. I still have a NEO 29 to pick up next week. If I had the room, I would get a lot more to bring back. I think he has a lot of Astros and could probably get those for even less. I'm going to ask for him to keep an eye out for a NEO 19, but those go big bucks over here too.

I'll hit you up in three years and see where things are sitting then. I've never flown into Kadena before and every time I joke about bringing back something like that on the jet, I'm sure there are AFIs prohibiting it. So that pipe dream probably is just that.

Picked up the other cab, a NEO 29, today. Didn't come with a 4-slot, so I am on the look-out for one. Cab is in really good shape overall. The biggest distractor is the yellowed plastic. I'll have to research how to bring the white color back. I threw a board inside and it powers up fine. The monitor is a bit washed out so I am guessing a cap kit is in order. The sound is good, but looks like someone hacked the sound wires for regular JAMMA, not MVS. I'll have to fix that once I get a MVS board. I don't know much about these cabs so if you got one, let me know so I can ask questions.
