I picked up a non-working Firepower last night. I have it about 95% working now with the exception of lane lamps and bonus x2 x3 x4 etc. There are other lamps out as well like the arrows that tell you which capture to enter when prompted. I can not figure out where on the board controls this. I do not know if it is cpu or driver board isssue. I am not very electronically savy, so easy terms and advise please.

look on the driver board very bottom plugs 2j7, 2j6 look for broken or bad connectors.plug 2j7 is left of frist plug and 2j6 is right next to it.good luck!

That's more than likely a driverboard issue.

It was corroded wire at the bottom of driver board connector. I pulled all the wires cut them and pushed fresh wire into those scotch lock connectors. Everything works great now. Thanks for the tips and the system 6 site was great info. Thanks.

That sounded real easy to fix. The problem had ya stump and you thought, large amounts of money and time to fix, and all you needed to do is strip up some fresh wire, nice job! What did you pay for it? I like to find a deal like this, get a pinball machine that dont work for alot less, get her home to find out it's an easy fix like this. I know someday it will happen, as I'am looking and saving some cash for it too.

I payed $400 for it but the cabinet and playfield are almost perfect. It is a game I have wanted for a long time. I may have payed a little more because it was about 15 minutes from my home. It allways seems like all the good deals/selection are on the west coast. I just need to mount a remote battery and some new rubbers/bulbs and wax and it is ready to go.

$400 is good price. I'am trying to remember if it had a 2 ball or 3 ball multi-ball. I just saw a Firepower with the playfield worn to wood, you couldn't tell the original colors, they were gone. Well anyways the guy wanted $600, a few broken plastics, and usual wear and breakage, but the pf was gone needed a new playfield.

3 ball multiball.

Its a great pin, isnt it? I just picked up 2 for $600 total. Got one working perfectly with moderate playfield wear, but nothing that bothers me, as the cabinet is nearly perfect. And now I have a parts machine to play around with also.

Is it just me, or does this pin have an EXTREMELY high tendency for the ball to either go straight down the hole or down the side outlanes very very very often? Its very challenging...

You learn quickly on this game what shots are safe, and what shots are not, Firepower is very unforgiving. I believe my longest multiball time was 10 seconds

It sounds like the batteries were corroded at one point in the life of this game, causing these connectors to get corroded. I would suggest that you look very closely at the line of coomponents below the batteries and make sure that there is no other parts that are corroded.
