Firefox Philips laserdisc - excellent repair source
Everyone,
Franz Raetzer is the man for Philips VP931 laserdisc repair. I sent him my original Philips laserdisc from my Firefox after I boogered it up attempting to align it; now it's performing flawlessly!
Franz performed an optical deck alignment, replaced motor brushes, and performed a series of modifications that bring the performance of the player back to (or even better than?) original specs.
Before I sent it to him it was occasionally skipping frames during the attraction sequence and the skipping progressed until the game was unplayable at higher levels. After I attempted to repair it the player was basically shot.
I sent it to Franz, and a couple of weeks later it arrived in perfect working order.
If you want to experience Firefox with the original Philips player, then Franz is the guy to send it to.
His email address: [email protected]
If I had known that he was around and able to work on this player I wouldn't have even attempted to fix it myself.
