Finished Restoring Vs. The Goonies! Lots of pictures and thanks! :)

After a good couple weeks of constant work, I'm finally finished! It turned out much better than I had imagined.

I love the Goonies and the way it looks in a Vs. Unisystem conversion cab. The orange color is definitely appropriate.

I busted out my Mezco Goonies action figures that I had in storage and I think they make great show pieces on top of the cab. I also placed the Vs. The Goonies serial sticker on the corner of the bezel. Now, it looks more "official." ;)

You can see details and lots of pictures of the whole process on my restoration thread:

Yo, Jess! That cab looks minty fresh. I love it! I have a Goonies PC-10 metal topper. Want it? I don't need it, it's yours. Send me your address.

That looks fantastic, Jess. Great work! I didn't know you had a Nintendo neon - that's a great addition to your "row". You were right, orange is definately the right color for that cab. John better watch out, his title of "Ninty King" might be in jeopardy, lol.

Nice job! It looks fantastic! (or would that be Nintastic?) ;)

BTW, that's one thing I've always liked about your website... the Goonies theme song playing!!! :beerchug:

Again, great job on the restoration!

Thanks guys! I appreciate it.

Cueball, I got the neon sign as a Christmas present from my wife. She got it on ebay. One of the best gifts I ever got. :D

Seawolf, gameplay is pretty simple. You go through the game collecting keys and Goonie kids to get through each level while collecting secret items to avoid the Fratelli brothers and random enemies. If you know where you're going, it's a pretty short game. Not the best replay value for most. but it has a lot of nostalgic value to me and I enjoy playing it again just to see the end. Also, the music is pretty sweet. I can easily swap out the board for another Vs. title as well.
