I have been working on this game on and off for almost a year. Most of the work happened in the last 30 days. This game was a pain in the ass to restore. There are so many parts!!! I decided not to replace the original side art but did manage to strip and remove every single part off of this game. Most parts were repainted, cleaned, etc. This was a pretty filthy game when I got it.

Repro CPO and marquee glass, new kickplate and t-molding. Everything else is all original.

The monitor worked fine when I got the game but since I already removed it, and I never wanted to remove the monitor again EVER, I capped it, replaced the flyback, HOT, Voltage Regulator, and rejuved it. The original G07 in this thing now looks amazing! :)

Anyways, here are some photos!...

Very nice! I'm just about to pull the monitor out of my EDOT to recap and rejuv. I'm guessing by your comments that I won't like it :)

Question for the DoT owners...

When I put it back together I couldn't remember which direction the clear bezel with the white artwork went. Was it supposed to go with the white side facing forward or with the light blue side facing forward. I did it with the light blue side facing forward. Just wondering!

The printed side faces forward. There's a diagram in the manual that helps a lot.

I looked in the manual, I didn't see any kind of exploded view.

Do you mean the white side goes forward?

EDIT: I looked at the manual, I see the diagram you mean. It says screened side should be forward on both. I don't remember if the blue or white was the screened side. Really don't want to take apart again! :)

Unfortunately, I think the white side is the screened side. If you want, I'll check mine to be sure before you tear yours apart again.

How do you decide which game to replace it with in the basement?

It's getting harder and harder to decide which game leaves for new blood. I basically am removing the games that just aren't getting much love. This time, Punch-Out was the one to leave.

the blue side faces forward for sure
I respectfully disagree. The correct answer of course is that the screen printed side faces forward. On my machine, that is the lighter of the two. I assume both sides started out as the same blue, and the forward facing side is just faded from the black light, but that's just a theory.

So anyway, you can post back and say "Blue!" and I'll post and say "White!", then you can post and say "Rabbit Season!" and I'll post and say "Duck Season!", and we'll take it from there :)

So, if it's supposed to be blue and not white then I'll probably leave mine as is with the blue side facing forward.

Congrats John. Looks like you really stepped up to this restoration! I'm really glad you left the sideart alone, as in my opinion, vintage games loose their vintage look and feel if everything on it is repro'd or new.

Can't wait to play it this weekend.
