Well I have my monitor and board-set working I believe.

Long story short I replaced a bad VR 7915 on my SW's avg board and now have correct voltages from my boardset.

Background: This monitor has been rebuilt full cap out, lv upgrade along with all the additional parts.

I plugged it all back together and held my breath, and fired it up.

I adjusted the B+ to 180.4 which is as close as I could get to 181v.

Went into test mode and I have bad retrace lines everywhere along with center bright dot. When I lower the brightness to the point where you no longer see the bright center dot I now have no image on the screen.

Getting close but I have not fine tuned a vector before, what should I do next?

here is a picture of what I'm seeing

Page 44 of this talks about fine tuning

Good document actually

It also talks about typos in the cap kits, so incorrect values etc
EG:
Page 7, DO NOT MAKE THE ABOVE SUBSTITUTION, AS IT WILL NOT WORK!
D104 and D105 need to be 1N914Bs. (Check your cap kit)

Page 7 Para 1: the parts list on page 31 has an error; it lists C916 as 0.35uF when it is
really 0.035uF. It is labeled properly in the schematic on page 28.

Ok went through that last night

Size and position are good

I am having a difficult time with the white balance portion of the adjustments

The document states

Turn all the potentiometers on the neck PCB to the full clockwise position. Turn the brightness control (the other white knob on the HV unit) so that only five lines are visible and sixth line is completely invisible. Adjust the red, green, and blue bias potentiometers (the black ones) until the 5th line from the right is pure white without any hint of color in it (the 5th line is the dimmest one and color bias abnormalities are most visible at lower
brightness levels; the goal is to get all five lines to be completely white).

When I am on the Intensity screen with different color bars, the blue bars are the brightest, I see all 6 or 7 of them, where the Red bars I only really see 2 Green is the same as Red only see a few of the bars, with the rest of the color bars being the same as red and green only a few bars visible.

Please advise

also note that when I was making adjustment to the pots on the neck board the screen intensity changed as I seen the center dot come back even after I had adjusted the brightness down so it was no longer visible.
I did not notice the Drive pots (white ones) making any change at all.

Could not get the Red or Green to adjust properly, started poking around looking at the neck board and what do you know the white and blue wire was broken off. What does that one do, I'm gonna fix it and try again.

That was it, re soldered the broken wire and I'm good to go, all colors look great!

Permission granted

Now I just a slight discoloration in the lower right
Degaussed it a few times and it's better but not completely gone
I bet that's because im missing the HV cage?

I don't think so
Color in lower rt changes as I rotate my cab facing East and West and North and South, only problem is I want it to face N-S. Seems like a degaussing issue, but I could be wrong, I'm learning about vector monitors as things happen.

Anyone have an extra HV cage they don't need?
