Okay, I have checked the most obvious place for serial #s on my cabinets, (which is above the back door,) but I have had no luck in finding the actual number. For each of my cabinets, the serial # sticker is either worn off or painted over.

My question is this: Is there any other way to locate the serial # of a cabinet without using the sticker on the back?

Different manufacturers did it different ways, but almost all put something on the inside of the cab. Look for anything stapled to the inside of the cab. Also, check the components in the cab as well. You may also have some tags on the wire harness with the information. Could be anywhere (or nowhere), just keep looking.

The harness or power transormer are good places to look, since they get swapped out less often. Anything with the game makers logo and a number on it that can be matched with another component is enough to establish the S/N for me.

Williams games had every component tagged with the games S/N, and the cab was stamped with the number too. Don't get confused by the monitors, as their maker had stickers put on them, also.

Tell us the name of the game, and someone here will probably know where the serial number should be found...

Alright, the cabinets in question are Centuri Swimmer and Sega Zaxxon

I just got home from school and will check them out right now.

Success! After a bit of searching I finally found the Serial #s.

Swimmer #149

Zaxxon #210182 (Isn't that a bit too high?)
