I got something in the mail today that I had been after for quite some time. While the label is a (fairly nice) reproduction, everything else is legit. I'm really stoked to finally have this! So without further ado, here are the pics!

I feel stupid, but utterly obligated to ask.

What is it?

:D

Congrats on the score!

This isn't phoenixed is it?

Most excellent score holmes!!!

That's been down in your wants for quite some time man, congrats for real. That's a good feeling. What are you going to do next?!? :)

A little celebration song for you

Like previous poster, is that phoenixed? If you do a battery swap I have a baller label template I made for mine - it looks like a Capcom service sticker and you can place it inside the rounded box indent on the bottom side. You can slap the date on it and stuff.

Congratulations! Good things come to those who wait (and pounce). Where are the screen shots of it working??????

Thank you everyone for the congratulations! Just when I was at my wits' end with the search,I come across this board. It's crazy how stuff like this happens!

:D

It's a Capcom CPS2 board and it's pure awesomeness!

Congrats on the score!

It is not phoenixed.I guess I need to hit up Channelmanic or any other capable phoenixer.

hahaha! congrats! 'bout time!
Thanks man! This was the thing I kinda mentioned in that recent e-mail I sent you.

Glad you finally found one :) But I have to ask, where did you find it?

I actually got this from an Australian guy on the Neo Geo forums.(Yeah..the edge of the earth basically.) If you are looking for Capcom CPS2 boards, that is the place to go.And in case anyone is wondering,I paid $250 for it plus $57 shipping from Australia.Yeah expensive, but of course I really wanted it.:)

I plan to take this smoky SF II conversion cab I got from the Super Auctions, fix it up and turn it into a custom Mega Man cab.

Yellowdog,I'm sure you remember that cab,the one that smelled like it had been in a smoky bar for like 20 years?

I'll get on that! :D

Label looks just like mine. I don't think its repro. I think capcom sent some out with this type label. Congrats on finally finding one. I phoenixed mine myself when I got it.

Is this the exact title you were just ranting about in another thread? I know you've been on the hunt for a long time, glad to see you got it chief. So when are you inviting all of down to come play it? :)

Thanks! I'll take your word for it but man the label just looks so cheaply made.It looks like it was printed off of a run of the mill computer printer. It also doesn't have that nice gloss to the label like all my other boards do.That's why I thought it was a repro.

I'm sending mine to the phoenix originator Raz on the NG forums.

Anytime man! I need to get it phoenixed though.Plus I need to get the rest of my games working.

Nice score.

Grails can be found. Hope is restored....

Thanks a lot! Yep,hope is restored.Of course, now the hunt is on for something else, something I really don't think I will find....the Rockman 1 and 2 yellow boards.I know a few people on the Neo Geo forums who have them, but they probably paid waaaaay more than I paid for this board and I'm sure none of these people will ever sell them anyway.Oh well, who knows.I'm just happy I was able to get this board.

Sorry for the necro bump, but as a fellow Mega/Rockman nut, I wanted to chime in :D

I can 2nd Mitsurugi-w on this. I bought an NOS MM2 kit long ago (this one: https://arcadeshock.com/products/megaman-2-cps2-kit). Entire artset, including cart label was that same quality (non-gloss. Not garbage, but not super nice). Also bought an NOS USA Progear kit and the same situation there on the art. It's underwhelming, but I think so late in the life of CPS2, Capcom USA just had scraps to work with (even cart cases were obviously not brand new).

Yellow Rockman 2's pop up here and there on Yahoo Japan Auctions (this one sold in Aug. https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h279129556), but good luck on yellow Rockman 1. I know 2 collectors who own them and those are the only ones I've ever seen.

In another thread you mentioned looking for marquees for all these. Here's the breakdown:

Megaman: Power Battle - Full legit marquee (released with CPS1 kit. Doubtful anything ever made for CPS2 location tests in USA).

Megaman 2: Power Fighters - Repro-looking (like your cart label) paper marquee. Not entirely exciting to look at. You could probably cobble together something yourself in PhotoShop using assets you found on the web that are more impressive.

Rockman: Power Battle - Typical Japanese artset (2x small rectangle art pieces and long move strip stickers).

Rockman 2: Power Fighters - Typical Japanese artset (2x small rectangle art pieces and long move strip stickers).

I have owned all of the above, so that's how I know :D
