I have spent weeks watching and waiting to get me a CRT tester, I missed a NOS 490 for $100.

this one I won has adapters 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 16, 20, 23, 24 and 25. As long as everything worksI should be fine, just need to get a 31 adapter.

is there any other things I need to look for or get?

and I won a BK 520B transistor tester....use one of these back in college in the 80's.
I have a capicator tester,fluke 77 and a 20mhz scope. still waiting on a good logic analyzer. have an old textronics 504 here at work that I might be able to get for free.

I use CR6 a lot. It works on all the b/w tubes I've ran into so far in raster and vector cabs. Double check your 9, maybe you'll get lucky and it's a six. I believe there a dot or line under it to show which one it is

I was 'watching' that 470 on eBay too, but the guy wouldn't ship to Canada so I didn't bid on it. Looks like you got it for a great price!

If you don't already have a degaussing coil, I'd add that to your shopping list too.

I still have a CR31 adapter for sale. $40 shipped.

I will most likley take you up on it, as soon as I get it here. at the moment I need to test the 2 WG7000 series I have to verify I don't have bad tubes. last time I used one of these I was in high school and working at the local radio shack / tv shop......Small town :)

a degaussing coil was about my 2 purchase after aquiring my cabinets.

almost have a full test bench....now if I can shake out the cobwebs and remember how all this crap works, been a long time since I had to do any real board level troubleshooting.
did a lot on the pins I have but video is a lot different

Funny..was going to start almost the same thread.

Won a 470..was looking for the most used adapters. I see the 6, 23 and 31 with what looks like the 23 being the most popular.

As best I can tell
6 = lots of B/W
23 = lots of color vectors
31 = ?

What the 31 used for?

Thanks!

The CR23 is good for most color raster monitors as well as the Amplifone color vector. With modification to the tube you can use it on a WG 6100 color vector.

The CR31 is used for most "skinny" neck tubes with 19" K7000 being the most common.

The 470 owner's manual and the service manual have not been scanned. However, I believe you can buy them from B&K's parts department or the tech support department.
