Hey guys, I finally shopped out my Elvis...still have a few things to dial in, but it's nice to finally play it all nice and clean.

Here are the BEFORE pics:

...the metal ramps look a bit dirty in my "after" pics - but that's actually just a trail where the "gold" has worn off a bit from ball travel. I guess I could have them replated.... *shrug*

Whoa. Holy shit. Nice. Is that playfield a printed mylar overlay? Looks awesome. Good work.

Nope, all Stern playfields are screened on wood and clearcoated. I just cleaned the shit out of it and waxed it. Has a pinball factory ever made games w/ mylar playfields?

I have no idea. I am not a pin guy. Just thought it looked pretty nice and bright. Great lighting on that baby.

Wow, great work. I remember when you posted pictures when you picked it up. At least I think I remember it, I could be confusing it with another Elvis but I think you have the "Dirty Elvis" market pretty well cornered with that machine. :D

Wow Greg that turned out excellent!
I know you're the poster child for supporting Iron Man so let me ask you how is the game play on this machine? I've never played one. Did you pick this up because the price was right and you plan on flipping it? Or does this machine have the "IT" factor for you?

I almost never buy a game to just flip it....the amount of work and time spent on a game is such a huge pain in the ass - I want to enjoy the fruit of my labors. That being said, some games don't end up being keepers or I'll need space for something else - so, yeah - some games will be "flipped" down the line....and due to that, I usually try to get games a good prices - so if I do decide to sell it, at least I can make a few bucks for all the time I spent on it. ...but seriously, I'm really really burnt out on working on games. I picked up a No Fear that needs a full shop job - and I'm honestly thinking of just selling it.....but, it's in the garage and out of the way....so maybe I'll just hang onto it until I feel the "bug" again.

But anyway - as for Elvis - I can't say if it's a keeper yet - I still need to dial a few things in, put in stronger flipper coils, etc....but it's pretty fun. I love the loop challenge w/ the magnet, the Encore Multiball is a fun reward if you get it, there are a good amount of modes and challenges to get to the Graceland wizard mode. Even though it doesn't really do anything for gameplay, I love how Elvis' movement is synced to the music....he lifts his mic when he sings and shakes his hips to the beat...heh. I'm a fan of upbeat/musical games...so it's the type of game that puts me in a good mood when I play it.

The before pictures look like the typical condition of the ones in the gamerooms of Regal Cinemas. I don't think Dandy Amusements (the national game operator for Regal Cinemas out of Simi Valley) ever cleans their pinball machines.

Dude!!!! That's who I bought it from! Dandy in Simi!!!! ......wow....Ken - you are GOOD!!!!

To be fair - the Dandy Elvis at the AMC Burbank 16 is pretty clean - that's where I got their info from, and asked them if they'd sell that Elvis. They had 3 more at their Simi office....of course the dirtiest one was the cheapest ;) ...the guy was shocked that it was so dirty. He said he expects the guys who collect the money to clean the pinballs and was disappointed that this one was never cleaned. The game had like 30,000 plays on it...I have to imagine it was never cleaned ONCE.

Yours looks exactly like the one at the Regal Cinemas Martin Village 16 here in Lacey, Washington. It's THAT dirty! I don't think it was ever cleaned. In fact it took three years just to get them to clean the monitor on a Dance Revolution game.

Great Job!!!!

the before pics were terrible that elvis must have been really ragged on alot.Great job!!! Looks great now!!
