Anyone else's? I really need to start talking to more people in the area.
The layout looks really well planned so that there is plenty of space. Did you think of that before using sketchup? Any advice for those of us currently finishing a basement although my gameroom will be the size of your orange room. Anything you would change or should of done?
I don't know of any parties off hand, but I know that especially the MD guys seem to have parties/gatherings fairly often.
Yeah, it took a couple revisions to get the layout how I liked it... I laid the whole thing out in Visio. I wish I would have tried Sketchup first, though really, for a quick rough layout, Visio works well (I used the actual sizes for the large games, and an estimated average size game for all the regular arcades, and then added a "comfortable" standing room section in front of the games). I can't think of anything I wish I would have done, since I moved the games around several times to get it exactly how I wanted it... and probably if I figure out a better way, I'll move them again
In general though, the best thing was to get games facing sides of other games, that way you only need room for one person standing in front of the game, plus room to walk behind. My first layout had two lines of games facing each other, and when people were playing both, it was tough to walk through. It works okay for Paperboy and Ice Cold Beer though, since they're at the end of the row, so there's no need to walk through.
