After a vacation in Colorado I finally got my father hooked on pinball. He just got home last week and he went to the Big 80's Weekend with me here in town this last weekend to play some pinball. There were two machines for sale a F-14 Tomcat and a Bally Game Show, both at a reasonable price. Cosmetically they are both in fantastic shape. He struck a deal with the owner for both machines and we took them my dad's house today.

The cabinets on both machines are fantastic with near zero damage on the F14 and some chipping on the front edge of the Game Show. The Game show is faded, but still looks really nice. The art on F14 is perfect.

The playfields on both machines have full mylar, but there is nearly zero wear on either one. Just a couple of tiny spots on the F14 and some tiny drop wear over the left inlane on Game Show. The mylar is lifting a tiny bit on the F14, but it will be fine for the time being. I would love to remove it, but removing mylar on a System 11 scares the hell out of me. So I don't know if we will ever attempt that.

When we got them to his house there were a couple of issues with the F14 that didn't show up at the show the day before. 1.) one of the kickout solenoid brackets had actually broken in half and the solenoid was hanging under the playfield. No problem though as we welded the bracket back together and it is as good as new now. 2.) The flippers needed adjustment and several of the solenoids under the playfield needed tightening. I fixed all of that and it plays like new now! Such a fast fun game.

Oh, and another cool thing, the F14 is signed on the translite and playfield (under apron) by Steve Ritchie :)

My dad is really excited to have the pins in his house. He knows the Game Show isn't a really deep game, but he likes it to have for the grandkids to play as it is a good pin for that. I think it is a fun game. It isn't deep, but it is fun and it is pretty.

Now, we just need to fill the rest of his basement with pins ;) You will see my WCS94 sitting there as well. He is borrowing it while I am re-painting and re-carpeting my gameroom/office.
