but i totally blew it. i guess that's ok for my first time there, but still, wish i could've gone passed it. i figured out how to run on the top of the level but couldn't get up the ladder right, going off memory of wiebe saying to go on the one that jumps directly in the center of the elevator top. i'm gonna read up on it and practice some more. 100k, here i come...

that is all.

Richie Knucklez has a nice short video that shows you how to get past the springs:

It's relatively successful, but there's a chance the next spring could land just as far and end up killing you anyways. You need the skill of anticipating the spring that follows the one that lands lined up and make sure you're not going on a killer spring. You would have to turn back and try again if that happens. Right now, my strategy is just to go anytime a spring lines up. This probably explains why I haven't broke 300K yet. :)

Sweet. It took me a few times to make it past the 3rd elevators, I'd get nervous when I'd get to the top and waiting for the right springs. The pattern seems random but I noticed if I wait to move left until a spring falls far left, then go up the ladder on the first spring that lands far right it works. Have yet to be killed since I started doing that. - Barry

Yeah, you really need to develop the skill of keeping your eyes fixed on the "bounce" spot while running to the ladder and then going up. In other words, the time it takes to reach the ladder has to be second nature and perfect so you don't have to pay attention to jumpman while watching what happens with the 2nd spring.

Good tip ,

It took me a while to clear the 3rd elevator board, and now I try to concentrate on exactly what you mentioned. I still get hit once in a while but I have caught that a couple of times and was able to bring the jumpman to the safe position. Now if I could concentate on the other boards as much as do this one then the stupid things wouldn't kill me so much.

Oh and congrats cleverlyj for making it that far. It took me a while to clear it mostly I guess because of nerves. But if you follow that video, it shouldn't take you long to conquer it.

took only a little over 3 months, but finally just beat the 3rd elevator. bumped my machine up to 6 guys so i could have extra to practice with. somehow i got cocky and died 4 times jumping from the second elevator to the top platform, but i got lucky and got up on the first spring. died on the next rivet stage, but i made it. 92100. i know there could be more points then that but right now i'm more concerned with getting the hang of 3rd elevator and beyond before i point press much.

do you have a High Score Save kit? you can make the lives unlimited which will def. help

no. haven't gotten one yet. i've had other gaming priorities like working on my pin, and i'd like to get one of those satan's hollow cpo's before they stop making them.

I don't have a high score save kit, but I keep track of my high scores with a dry erase marker in the top right corner of the cocktail glass. My top score is 97000, which means I had to have gotten past the 3rd elevators one time. It must have been luck as I've never past them since. I got there last night with a score of 85000, but spent all 3 lives on that stage.

Thanks for the link to the video above, I'll give it a look.

I wanted to get 400K by the end of last year and I was stuck on 344K and finally on dec 29 busted out 521k level 14 barrel stage after elevators looking for 600k for 2010 my high score in high school 1984ish was 220k

I've been there several times but have yet to clear it. Sometimes, I have trouble just getting that far. I have to sit down and play it a few times in a row but don't usually find the time.

Incidentally, my 2.5 year old daughter likes DK. She says "I play monkey game". Then I put a few credits on and she stands on a chair. Definitely can't make the 100k but she has fun anyway.
