I'm still stuck at the 79,900 club. But, I mostly play for survival and not points. Either way, I have a lot of room for improvement. Congrats!

Just joined the 160,400 K DK club !!!

CORRECTION !!!

I just hit 160,400 K !!!!! and was a very close jump away from a big finish of the pie factory..

if you follow the third elevator tip for the 2nd, (the go when the spring hits the center of the elevator platform) it works great. however, the timing is more precise for the third elevator and i haven't gotten it down yet. anyone have tips? i go on the spring that everyone else does, as wiebe has pointed out in the king of kong with his drawing on the bezel, i just always get picked off on the ladder.

so, do you have to watch the spring after the right spring as well? or what?

signed, stuck around 80k.

The 3rd and up elevators is a pain, but once you get it, it's easy. To go up the ladder, you have to watch the spring after the first long spring. Check out this vid. - Barry

The third elevator screen IS easy once you follow the tips listed in that Youtube video (posted by rknucklez), but it is every elevator screen after the third that is the real bitch.

There is some randomness inserted AFTER the third elevator screen that can really mess you up. I play the 4th elevator screen (and later) exactly the same way that I play the third elevator screen and occasionally it works perfectly and other times it does not.

I remember Wiebe mentioning something about watching the next spring (after the one that lines up with the yellow column) and based on what that next spring does you either A.) continue up the ladder or B.) return to the safe zone between the two ladders.

I have tried to catch the nuances of that "next" spring to determine when I should continue and when I should retreat, but I haven't figured it out yet.

My best games to date have come when I "got lucky" and made it up the ladder without having the random "bad" spring hitting me.

If I can conquer this part of the game, I have no doubt that my high scores will go from the 180k up North of 500k pretty quickly ... I just can't seem to figure it out, though.

I can literally get to the 4th elevator screen on my first man and then lose all 4 lives trying to make it up that final ladder - very frustrating, indeed.

i've followed the tips in that video as well, that's how i get past the 2nd elevator, however i guess i'm either a) too slow in moving or b) getting hit by a bad spring after.

This where I've been getting stuck too. The trick is apparently to teach yourself to run over and climb up the ladder without looking, and keep your attention focused on what the next spring will be. It definitely takes some practice. I'm to the point where it's about a 50/50 chance that I'll make it.
